VENTURA (KABC) Daniel Espinoza [Dorothy Anne Walter Killed March 5, 2006]

The latest news Ventura (KABC) 6-25-08

"Two years now, I can close my eyes, I can tell you exactly what happened in that hospital, the whole ride there, what I was saying, what we were doing; it is so clear in my memory, it was a terrible night," said Barrett Rankins, Dorothy Anne Walter's grandson.

Walter's grandchildren say they still haven't come to terms with the loss.

"To just think about the idea that there's no way I can see her again; it's devastating, even now," said Bryce Rankins.

In case anyone missed this; it’s for teen drivers. The CHP is affording a FREE class August 4, 2009 at the 420 Club located at 3910 Alfred Harrell Hwy.

“CHP schedules class on teen driving; CHP “Start Smart” Program
Start Smart is aimed at helping newly licensed and future licensed drivers understand the critical responsibilities of driving.  Start Smart also focuses on the severe consequences that are attributed to poor judgment.”

“This is a free class and at least one parent must attend with his or her child.  Those interested in attending the class can sign up at the Bakersfield CHP Office at 4040 Buck Owens Blvd. or call the Office at (661) 864-4444.”     &nb sp;

Just another way the CHP is working on making our roads a safer place for all of us.
Thank you CHP!

The CHP are saving the lives of innocent people and street racers; even if the illegal street racers are too foolish to see it. Thank you, CHP for another excellent job in helping combat the illegal street racing problem in Kern County! Everyone who drives legally thanks you for making our roads a safer place for all.

Way to go CHP!

I am glad to see that the long standing illegal street racing problem is finally getting address in Kern County after all these years. I just wished that BPD would follow the lead of the CHP and start actively; looking for illegal street racers; before they kill again; on city streets another innocent person. Everyone in town seems to be aware of this ongoing problem with illegal street racing. So why aren’t the BPD actively searching city streets for these illegal street racers?

In today’s paper the CHP tells of how organized the illegal street racers are, with look-outs, scanners, cell phones, but even with all that; the CHP was able to outsmart the illegal street racers: Thank you CHP!

Why isn’t this front page news?  “43 arrests made by CHP street racing task force”

This illegal street racing story was all over KERN Radio 1180 today!

This should be a front Page news story!

It’s too bad that the CHP wasn’t the one investigating the street racers; who killed Dorothy Anne Walter, Sunday March 5, 2006. Maybe then the three men [Daniel “Danny” Espinoza,   Chiropractor Troy Douglas Sorensen, Kevin Mathew Novack] would have all been held accountable for the death of an innocent person. They all got away with Murder.

"43 arrests made by CHP street racing task forceStreet Racing is illegal.  Unfortunately, there is no one place where these street racers hang out.  They are well organized and move from location to location to avoid detection.  When the public sees what may appear to be “street racing” activity, they are urged to call 911.  We will continue to remain proactive throughout the year to combat this problem.”

Barbara Blair’s family gets a little justice for the death of their loved one; knowing that someone is being held accountable.

Jose Hernandez was street racing with Ryan Edward Weissrock, when Barbara Blair was killed. “Weissrock is scheduled for a June 1 trial on charges of a speed contest, vehicular manslaughter and hit and run.”

If Ryan Weissrock goes before Judge Michael Lewis he too can get away with it; as did Daniel ‘Danny’ Espinoza the killer of Dorothy Anne Walter.

On Sunday March 5, 2006, if just one person had called to report the [Mustang driven by Daniel “Danny” Espinoza of Ventura CA. the Corvette driven by Kevin Mathew Novack of Simi Valley, or the Porsche Carrera 4 driven by Chiropractor Troy Douglas Sorensen of Bakersfield, CA.] about the three cars traveling down the 99 Freeway from the Simi Valley area together and all exiting at the same time onto Stockdale Hwy where they continued to challenge each other down Stockdale Hwy.

If just one person called 911;  innocent lives could be saved!

The judgment is bittersweet; it is an emotional victory for the family of the victim Dorothy Anne Walter. This comes on the third anniversary of the killing of an innocent person.

 http://www.bakersfield.com/...

The judgment against Daniel “Danny” Espinoza the 25 year old man who was Street Racing two other cars March 5, 2006 when he killed Dorothy Anne Walter a mother and grandmother. Daniel Espinoza was convicted of felony vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence for killing an innocent person: hopefully this will send a message to all Street Racers.

Dorothy Anne Walter, mother of five; grandmother of ten, was Killed March 5, 2006, when Daniel Espinoza, the man from Ventura, Ca. was Street Racing on Stockdale Hwy at over 94 miles an hour. Daniel Espinoza pled guilty and was convicted of the Killing of Dorothy Anne Walter. He was only given probation by the judge.
Daniel "Danny" Espinoza is again looking for more public handouts, now he wants a Bigger BED, so his girlfriend can have more room in his bed when she sleeps over.
We have been paying for him all along. Now we get to pay for his good times with his girlfriend. Probation. What a JOKE. This isn't any kind of punishment, we can
thank Judge Michael Lewis for not caring about the Victim Dorothy Anne
Walter. To him, her LIFE had No Value. If it did he would have sent him
to prison. This could have happened to anyone of us. Why is an innocent life worth nothing in the eyes of the court in Kern County?

Not only am I incensed over the injustice that was inflicted on the Walter family by Judge Lewis, it appears other people are just as outraged as I am.   Thank you to Patricia Patwell for speaking the truth in this travesty of justice.

Judge Lewis isn't God

| Monday, Aug 4 2008 8:15 PM

Last Updated: Monday, Aug 4 2008 8:20 PM

Judge Michael Lewis set himself up as God when he declared to the Walter families that "healing for both families will begin today." Since when does a judge decide when a family heals after a horrendous death like that of Dorothy Ann Walter? And when does a judge decide that his court lacks the ability to "undo the suffering"?

A court doesn't (or shouldn't) rule on what is enough suffering. I thought our courts were there to decide a sentence for a man who, in speeding with no regard for the safety of others, killed an innocent person.

Yes, Danny Espinoza is now a quadriplegic, by no one's fault but his own. But the innocent person he killed, Dorothy Ann Walter, doesn't have even that. Her family can't hug her or kiss her or just be happy that at least she's still alive.

So Judge Lewis stated his order that "healing begins now." Just like that. I lost my brother recently. I would rather have him here, in a wheelchair but alive, than gone forever from my life. The Walter family feels the same way, I bet. And Espinoza gets to go home and, as his mother said, "Get on with their lives." I'm sure the Walter family wishes they could do the same.

Shame on Judge Lewis.

When Judge Michael Lewis comes up for re-election, people need to look at his track record. How many other convicted felons has he given probation to?
We don't need sympathetic judges for convicted felons, We need judges that uphold the Law, and hold felons accountable.

Why  have  any  LAWS  at  all?

Slap in the faces of the victim's family; the judge Michael Lewis gave the KILLER five years Probation for the DEATH of Dorothy Anne Walter.

This is another sad day for the victim's family. First, the KILLING of
"Dorothy Anne Walter" by Daniel" Danny" Espinoza. Now there is
NO accountability for the killing of an innocent person. The family of the
killer "won," they got their way. The killer, Daniel Espinoza gets to go home to be with his family, while the family of Dorothy Anne Walter get to visit her grave.

So... if you Break the LAW, Street Race at over 100 miles an hour, drive
with your headlights turned OFF in the dark, drive a car WITHOUT INSURANCE, KILL an Innocent Person, then injure yourself in the process...you will Not be held ACCOUNTABLE in Bakersfield, CA.
Why  have  any  LAWS  at  all?
