Speak out on The Canyons project

What do you think of a large development slated for northeast Bakersfield? The city's Planning Commission heard comments about it Thursday night, and took a look at the report on environmental impacts.

Reporter Jenny Shearer was there and brings us this report.

You can also read the draft environmental impact reports for The Canyons and a potential new southwest shopping center.

Tell us what you think ... and the city's taking official comments at the Development Services Department, Planning Division, 1715 Chester Ave., Bakersfield, 93301, or by  e-mail to DevPln@bakersfieldcity.us.

Has anyone driven through downtown or Rosedale hwy. during commuter hours of late? How about the controversy of our air quality? Let's build more houses and shopping centers, that will solve the problem.
