Gimme my rebate check!
The check's in the mail — sort of. While you wait for your rebate check that's part of the economic stimulus plan, the Internal Revenue Service is sending out letters this month to let you know it's coming. (Hold tight!) That letter, the Associated Pres reports, will go to about 130 million households at a cost of nearly $42 million. (That's right, $42 million.) Comes out to about 32 cents apiece to print, process and mail, the AP says. 5 comments from 5 users

Why don't they just send the check? What is the point of notifying us on how much we are going to get. We get what get. posted by

Umm, let's see...that $42M could be put to better use like education (which we all know is headed south). Why not give each state it's proportionate share to be used accordingly? If any of us haven't read, heard or seen info about this rebate, it'll be like Christmas when they get it! Use the $ where it's NEEDED! posted by

Except for a political donation, mine's going in the bank. We're going to *NEED* it next year as the country starts to pull out of the Bush Recession. posted by
