You won't believe what these homes are going for

Our latest home sales map is ready for a peek.

No need to grab a map and figure out where to find Loon and Memory courts. (Homes on those streets recently sold.) We’ve done the work for you.

This map is updated with homes that sold in Bakersfield March 1 to March 9, color-coded by sales price.

We regularly publish single family home sale transactions that occurred between individuals. Since foreclosures, or bank-owned properties, now account for an increasing number of weekly sales, sales between banks and individuals are now being included.

You can easily check out what homes are going for with the information from First American Real Estate Solutions that's compiled by reporter Vanessa Gregory.

Highlights for the first nine days of March:

• 66 homes are new on this map.

• Priciest? One sold for $500,500 in the 93312 ZIP code.

• Cheapest? One sold for $67,000 in the 93307 ZIP code.

What do you think of the prices?

Christine, it's 1930 Country Club, off of College Avenue.  When I looked at in 2003, it needed a new roof ( I know that's been replaced by whoever bought it) and it need some serious updating in the kitchen....ugly old cabinets....don't know what it looks like on the inside now.  But you know the old adage, buy the worst house in the best area...and this one seems to fit that scenario.

It's probably on a lot of ground, with a pool, maybe a guest house, etc.

Hi Woofwoof,

Is the house you are talking about actually on Country Club Drive, or on one of the cul-de-sacs adjacent to it? Do you know the address? Curious minds want to know ...

I just saw a home in my neighborhood yesterday, one that was actually used to appraise my house with, for sale now at $170,000.  My house was $165,000 in 2003.  And so was that one.  UGH!  Would you believe that house is on Country Club Drive in the NE, on a cul-de-sac?  It's dated and needs TLC, but it's also surrounded by some monster homes.  Would be a good buy for someone to sit on while this blows over.  It 's a 4 bdrm and has over 2000 sq ft too.

I think you get what you pay for. Consider the two zip codes...
