Nine Kern businesses honored

Reporter Jenny Shearer brings us this news:

Nine Kern companies will be honored at the New California 100 Conference June 17 at the University of California, Davis.

The inaugural event will recognize business success and aims to spark growth and innovation among the state’s 19-county Central Valley.

These valley-headquartered firms make economic, civic and philanthropic contributions to regional prosperity. Kern’s honorees are:

• Aera Energy LLC

• Berry Petroleum Co.

• Grimmway Farms

• Jaco Oil Co.

• KS Industries

• Marko Zaninovich Inc.

• Paramount Citrus

• Sun World International

• WM Bolthouse Farms Inc.

This spring, Berry announced plans to move its corporate headquarters to Denver. But the company will maintain a Bakersfield office.
