Gottschalks in new spot at East Hills

It appears Gottschalks has completed its main store transition at East Hills Mall. Read about all the changes in John Cox's story from late May.

This weekend, the spot at the east end of the mall was a fully operational department store. It has an open and airy feel, and a pretty big shoe selection just like when the store was in the middle of the mall.

I asked a clerk if customers had figured out that the store at the east end was now the main location, and she said "they're getting it."

And for the Cheapskates out there, I can say there were a lot of sales, at least this weekend. I got out of there with a dress (originally about $90) and a bathing suit (originally $94) for $55 total, keeping me in budget.
