Chuck E. Cheese's expansion plans

Chuck E. Cheese’s has applied for a permit to add about 3,000 square feet to its 12,023-square-foot store at 3760 Ming Ave.

Chuck E. Cheese’s is owned by CEC Entertainment, Inc., which is based in Irving, Texas. CEC spokeswoman Brenda Holloway confirmed the expansion plans, but said there is no firm timeline for construction.

If the project is approved, the restaurant will hire additional employees, Holloway said, but she didn’t know how many.

Since our original post Monday, we now have more details about the plans. Read the full story here.

Let me guess: they're adding a police station to decrease response times?

I wonder if they'll fix all the broken machines too? I've been there when it's crowded, and the place is too small for how many people go there. It's no wonder there are problems all the time. Oh yeah, and the pizza is lousy. Little Caesars is better, which isn't saying much.

I saw on the news that a popular oriental food place lost their lease due to Chuckie wanted to expand.   Wonder how the lady is doing..if she'll be able to relocate.

I can't even remember how long it's been since I was there...some kids birthday, but whose?

Nancy here is the link to that news item.....  Local restaurant forced to close doors after 21 years

Other bloggers had comments this month about CEC...... http://people.bakersfield.c...

They should just relocate Chuck E. Cheese.

I remember the comments.  No one had a good word for them.  It's just a shame that the lady with the restaurant is losing everything.  What a piece of work Karpe and his agents are.

Michele1075-----They should just relocate Chuck E. Cheese.  I agree.  Their current location has inadequate parking.  Surely there are enough vacant retail locations in town that would be better suited to this business.

You're right about the parking.  It's the customers that I'd like to go to another area too.

their patrons seem to be lower than the lowest common denominator.  the last time i was there for a kids birthday party, a large group of obese adults, about 6, sat at a bench table and took up enough space for 15 to 20 regular people, and there was nowhere to sit.  they were drinking beer, and using foul language.  we happened to be seated a couple of benches toward the door, and could hear EVERY word they uttered.  it was all i could to to take my kid to the broken games and turn in tickets for some crappy toy that is lower than cereal box riff raff

sounds like the city has no idea this is taking place, what with the police calls and all
