AT&T adds wireless spectrum in Bakersfield

To support surging demand for mobile broadband in its greater Los Angeles region, which includes Bakersfield, AT&T has strengthened 3G wireless coverage by launching additional wireless spectrum.

The new spectrum improves in-building wireless coverage and adds capacity to support more mobile data use, the company said.

The new spectrum, 850 MHz, has been added to the existing 1,900 MHz spectrum in the region. The result is an increase in overall network capacity, especially for AT&T 3G customers, who should receive improved quality and coverage throughout the area, AT&T said.
