Examples of the left and it's vitriol.
I posted this on a blog here but will be removing it. I shouldn't have highjacked another blog to show it. I am SO fed up with the barbs from the left about how the right hates this and the right hates that when all the whil the left is spewing bile like an overflowing garbage disposal. First example below.
"Tell ya what fellas, when you guys start admitting that the "hate" talk isn't just on the right, I'll start believing one or two things you say. Your credibilty is shot when you don't admit things like this. "Florida Democrat Alan Grayson has a reputation for inflammatory rhetoric, but he took it even further when showing his disdain for Federal Reserve senior advisor Linda Robertson by calling her a "K Street whore" in a recent radio interview. 15 comments from 10 users

If Grayson did apologize for calling her a K Street whore, he shouldn't have. One should never apologize for speaking the truth. Besides, 'whore' is too nice of a word for Ms. Robinson. posted by

You and I have been on the BC blog long enough Nancy to know when anyone posts no matter the subject five and more times on the same page they seem to have nothing better to do. posted by

Taoking is djembe and he is nothing but a gutter snipe. Ignore him because the blog manager will kick him off soon, again, but like most libs he will do anything to attack true Americans.

Living in the Kern River Valley I read our local paper and The Tehachapi News. Neither the Sun nor the Courier have a blog site. But an animal lover drove people away from the "hogging of the blog" with endless animal posts one right after another. Pretty soon, many stopped even looking at THN's blog. posted by

Yep doesn't take long for the true colors to come through. What is sad is he has nothing else. A grown man having to spoof ip's to throw jabs out at a group of people. He truly must not be a very happy person if this is what gets his rocks off. Being so full of hate must be rough to live with. posted by

Actually, I take that back. Grayson should apologize. He should apologize to all of the whores out there for putting Ms. Robinson in a group that is superior to her kind. posted by

DJ's deleting all of his posts, thinking that will cover his tracks. Sam, I've learned to wait for the barrage of Lost Pets posts before I post anything of my own.

Good thinking AD; I don't know about Nancy but I reported the violations of both this person and virgil. Those reports remain even if the posts are deleted. posted by

Way to be divisive while complaining about others being divisive. This will really help bring everyone together *sarcasm*. I mean really, was it called for to say only one side are "true Americans" Savvy? Is that not spewing more hate? Meeting hate with hate... the irony runs thick. posted by

nancyii: i'm quite certain that you are sincere and honest when complaining about "vitriole" from the left. I want to point out, once again, that all quantitative measurements of this have shown, time and again, that this kind of problem issues from the right earlier in a debate, gets nastier quicker, and is more numerous from the right. There is no amount of personal observation or complaint that can change that. The left is not only relatively disdainful of hate speech on moral grounds, but is significantly less likely to engage in it. Even when answering same. I have demonstrated this many times. Isn't it about time that we just started abhoring the practice everywhere we see it, instead of abhoring it only when it appears on 'the other side'? I, for my part, correct folks on the left here on these blogs an irl, when I witness this happening. Do you do the same? posted by

Nancy, I don't find what Congressman Grayson said about the former head Enron lobbyist as spewing bile. I believe the Congressman stands right in line with many libertarians in decrying the cozy nature of corporatism and government bureaucracy. His obvious point is that no person who was a ranking lobbyist for a company that defrauded more than $40 billion from all of America should be in any position to advocate for any economic policy. Maybe whore is too nice a term, because that could imply the person might be considered a victim. I think crook would have been a better word for Congressman Grayson to use, because the key lobbyist for such a fraudulent company which devastated so many lives is certainly no victim. posted by

Ds, I disagree with people here all the time. More the left than the right admittedly but yes, I do comment on it from time to time. I don't see you doing the same although you just said you do. I'll have to take your word for it. Adam, you are entitled to your opinion of Robertson as is Grayson. What I do know is that if the menfolk in my family heard a man call me a whore the guy would get a poke in the nose. If Grayson wants to call her honesty into question that's one thing but his choice of words was poor to say the least. If Robertson had been a man what would have been a comparable word? edited for change of word...I'm sleepy, this time change is killing me. posted by

Nancy / DS, my observation is that most frequent bloggers either ilne up left or right and there is no middle ground. I, for example, am very conservative. DS, on the other hand, is very liberal. What ever the argument is, and innocent a post maybe, DS will quickly point out the right twist without actually attempting to read the post with an open mind (he says he is open minded). I'm using DS as an example, but that can be said pretty much about any of the left leaning bloggers on this site. For example, adam above actually defends tao's initial attack and the use of the term 'whore'. Now do you see the natural alignment most of us gravitate towards? Sadly, I don't think anything can be done until the left grows up and gets a responsible adult job and have to actually pay some taxes (there's my right bias).

Casooner, as so often happens here, my point was entirely lost in the zeal to defend a trash mouthed Democrat. My point was to show that we hear this sort of thing all the time from the left whether it's the politicians themselves or the bloggers and yet they want to present themselves as above it all while the right wallows in muck. What I've never understood is why people can't see that one side is as bad as the other at throwing mud. I'm not defending anything the right has said, I'd just like a little honesty from the other side. And yes, there are sides no matter hw much people want to believe we're all one big happy family. We do NOT see eye to eye on a lot of things but calling someone a "whore" is beyond decency.
