Pethaven - > Meandering Minds -> Ah, Spring
Ah, Spring

I'm weary of coughs and of sniffles and sneezes,

Of hats and of coats and of cold winter breezes,

A skier I'm not, I don't ice fish or skate,

I don't pine for flurries or hope spring is late.

I like to see snow on its first fall through space,

But then pray it then lands in some foreign place.

Ah, springtime, do hurry, send sunshine that's bright.

And change all the whiteness to color and light.

Send flowers and birdies and grass turning green,

And change outside weather to something less mean.

I love when it's sunny-when buds burst forth life.

And weather is gentle, not cold- causing strife.

New Year, welcome springtime, please bring on the dawn

Of a wondrous new earth, as its splendors are born.

"I'm weary of...hats and of coats and of cold winter breezes." And the rest of the clothes too!  "...do hurry, send sunshine that's bright. And change the whiteness to color..." as in a nice golden tan. Yes, I agree Pethaven, bring on the Springtime. Naturists have no use for cold...unless it involves a frosty beverage, of course.

Great poem, Pethaven.  It's very upbeat and joyous.  Thanks for making me smile.  : )

Nice writing.

Maybe we can form a little online writers' club, consisting of Alicen, the amazingly prolific Sam Heath, and of course, myself.  ;)

Dont' forget to check out the Kern Poet (Alicen and me):

Thanks again kind readers for your thoughtful input. Well, hats off to those brave enough to walk around au naturale. So while I am happy to doff coats, hats, gloves, scarves and similar extras, I personally wouldn't wish to scare anyone, so I'll keep my shirt and jeans on. LOL

Oddly enough, Pethaven, hats are usually the only things we do wear! Strange, but true. Thanks for the salutation never the less :-)
