How to post a photo on PhotoBlogger

Upload your photo to an Internet server, such as Flickr, Photobucket, etc. You can also upload it to Bakersfield.com by clicking on "My Settings," then the drop-down menu for "My Media," and then "Upload Media."

Copy the URL for your photo. (If you are looking at your list of photos on Bakersfield.com, right-click or control-click the filename and choose "copy link location.")

In the comment field of the blog, choose the mountain/sun icon to insert an image. Paste the URL into the field in the Image Properties pop-up box. (Note: Clicking the "Browse" button won't work.) Hit OK.

You can resize the photo by clicking on it and dragging a corner in or out. You can also align your photo and make other style changes in the Image Properties box. To access the Image Properties box, right-click or control-click the image and choose "Image Properties."

Let's see your wildflower shots!

Since spring has arrived and Easter has passed, the wildflowers have been sprouting all around Kern County, and I figured now might be a good time to have everyone post their wildflower pictures.

They are quite lovely, aren't they? I think so, at least.

You may also post some pictures of flowers that you've grown in your backyard, too. They are just as pretty.

Now, I must apologize to you all -- particularly Woof, Sage and Buffy -- for my lack of participation in last week's blog post. I was exhausted that morning and went back to bed immediately after posting, and I had three homework deadlines and three tests to take that week, so I wasn't feeling quite up to posting on the blogs. I feel guilty, so hopefully I will have more energy this week. I definitely appreciated your contributions and found all of your pictures quite humorous!

Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Nice pictures, Robin.

In the two weeks before this last weekend, my wife and I went to Weldon and Kelso Valley, and then to the California Poppy Reserve in Lancaster. We have a lot of great pictures, but I don't have the technical know how to get them on this blog. The reserve was just full of poppys (poppies?).  Some great lupine near Isabella Lake.

Love your pictures, Robin.  For everyone else who wants to play:

How do I post a picture in a comment?

There are a couple of steps to this.  First, you need to make sure your picture is stored online somewhere.  You can upload it to the Bakersfield.com website or to another online storage service like Photobucket or Flickr.
All online hosting services will assign a URL or web address (http://www. etc.) to your picture.  All you need to do is copy the URL and then click the picture-postcard icon above the comment field (it's yellow and looks like mountains with a sun above them).  A pop-up window will come up and ask for the URL of the photo.  Paste the URL in the box and click OK.  You'll also see a browse button next to this field.  This button is currently non-operational.

What are my other photo options?

When you click the picture-postcard icon above the comment field (it's yellow and looks like mountains with a sun above them), a pop-up window will come up. Besides just posting a picture, you have a whole lot of other cool options.
You can resize the photo by clicking on it and dragging a corner in or out. You can also align your photo and make other style changes in the Image Properties box. To access the Image Properties box, right-click or control-click the image and choose "Image Properties."

Keep'em coming, Sage.  I love 'em.

Nonsense, Sage. Your pictures are very pretty, and I'm glad you contribute to the blog.

Umm...what's on your mind, Tom? Ha ha. I'm not really sure what to pick for next week. I love the colors on your picture, Tom. Wish I had some California poppies around here. My dad planted a ton of Iceland poppies.

Nice picture, Tolerance.  Do you know what kind of tree it's from?

Come back, Steve, and one of us will try to help you. I'd like to see the pictures, too. I guess you could try e-mailing them and I could upload them through PhotoBlogger if you wanted to try making things easy for yourself. Whatever works for you. But you must share them!

Sorry about that, guys. I went back to bed earlier after posting the blog again, so I just got up within the past hour.

Robin, it's funny but ever since I started taking 3D pictures, I've found the whole way I take pictures has changed.  I always want something in the foreground, something in the mid and something far off.

As for next week, do folks here like themes or do you just want to have a free for all?

Can you tell this is my favorite topic?

 Woof, I love your pictures!

I think you also reached the highest density of puns I've seen here with "Boy I'm sick as a dog  today... but I'll throw up a couple pics...."

Feel better soon.

I posted a couple of  these on another blog here, but I'll put them here now too.

I know this isn't a wildflower, but...okay, I swear this is the last one I'm gonna put on....these have been taken from my photo blog called www.greenerylover.blogspot.com  IF YOU CLICK ON THE ONES ABOVE, THEY'LL GET WAY BIGGER, FOR THAT REAL CLOSE-UP LOOK. But for some reason, this pic isn't able to click on...it's not working, for the larger shot

Beautiful Sage, you are definitely following the rules here....WILDFLOWERS.  I didn't get out and take as many pics as I would've like to, getting more wildflower shots.  You've done good, Sage.

Yep. I can definitely tell it's your favorite topic, Woof. I remembered you posting them before, and I remembered seeing your blog, so I knew you'd enjoy posting for this topic today. I was just waiting to see what you were going to post. :) I love your pictures, Woof. Thanks for sharing them!

Lupines! Thanks again for sharing, Sage! When I was in the third grade, I remember reading a story from our literature book about Lupines and some lady, I think. All I really remember, though, is the Lupines. That's what comes to mind when I see or hear about Lupines. I remember the teacher had us do an art project where we painted a house with a fence and a bunch of Lupines surrounding it. Oh, so beatiful. I wish I still had that art project. Hopefully it's lost somewhere in this house. Soooooo pretty!

No worries, Woof. Want to know a secret? I cheated! The wildflowers I took pictures of in this blog are from wildflower seeds that my dad planted at the front of our property. They are not genuine wildflowers, but they are wildflowers nonetheless. I get out of my house even less often than you do. I don't have my license, so I can't go anywhere without my parents. I just don't go anywhere. I go to Taft when I need to take a test, and every once in a great while I'll go somewhere like a concert with my family, but that's really about it. The majority of the pictures I post have been taken from somewhere on my property.

"Nice picture, Tolerance.  Do you know what kind of tree it's from? "

I believe it's a plum tree (?).
