How to post a photo on PhotoBlogger

Upload your photo to an Internet server, such as Flickr, Photobucket, etc. You can also upload it to Bakersfield.com by clicking on "My Settings," then the drop-down menu for "My Media," and then "Upload Media."

Copy the URL for your photo. (If you are looking at your list of photos on Bakersfield.com, right-click or control-click the filename and choose "copy link location.")

In the comment field of the blog, choose the mountain/sun icon to insert an image. Paste the URL into the field in the Image Properties pop-up box. (Note: Clicking the "Browse" button won't work.) Hit OK.

You can resize the photo by clicking on it and dragging a corner in or out. You can also align your photo and make other style changes in the Image Properties box. To access the Image Properties box, right-click or control-click the image and choose "Image Properties."

Hi, everyone!

Welcome back to Photo Blogger!

This is its second week on the blogs and I'm happy to be taking the blog over for Tom. If you hadn't already guessed, it's me, Robin(islost).

This week's theme is faith. If you have any photos that you took during Easter, feel free to share them! I want to mention that although "faith" is usually associated with religion, it does not necessarily have to be a photo directly related to religion. If you look it up in the dictionary, you'll notice that it also mentions something along the lines of "complete trust or confidence; loyalty."

So, Bakersfield bloggers, where are those pictures? Let's see them!

It's so difficult to come up with random weekly themes when there aren't any holidays. Shall we decide together on next week's theme?

By the way, if you have a MySpace and you feel like doing so, feel free to add us to your friends list. www.myspace.com/bakophotoblogger

Well, I think that's about it, but if not I'll just post it in the comment field later.

It's week one of PhotoBlogger running at full steam.  It's also my last week at the helm of photoblogger.  Next week and going forward, Robinislost will be taking over this blog.  So before I get all teary-eyed and start posting Verve Pipe's "The Freshman" here, let's move on to the subject matter at hand.

I'm a bit into weird photo techniques, so among my images for today's theme (by which I mean most of them), I've included a few stereo photos I took.  If anyone has regular 3D glasses at home, I'll try to pop these into anaglyph format so you see them in 3D.  The photos can also be viewed with a Holmes-style stereo-viewer as is.

Enough about me.  Let's see your photos below.   If you've got something you'd like to share that doesn't fit the theme, feel free to add it as well.

Also, if you're using a special camera, lens or shooting technique, share that with us as well.

Next week's theme is "Faith" so if you're feeling too shy this week or missed last week's announcement, now's the time to get out there and start shooting.

I'm going to start posting this regularly on Tuesdays from now on and one thing I'm going to incorporate is a weekly photo challenge based on a theme.  We'll start off with "Bakersfield" for next Tuesday's blog.  So get out there with your cameras or go through your hard drive and pull out your best pictures that fit the theme.  The only rule is that you have to take the picture yourself.  No posting someone else's work.

I figure Bakerfield is a good way to get started since we can all share a photo (or 2 or 10) that sum up the idea of Bakersfield to us.  Future themes will be along the lines of industrial, pets, faith, play.

Of course, if you have a "I gotta share it" picture, those are always welcome as well.

Now get out there and shoot!

This is it: the new B.com Photoblog!  Right now, it'll be myself (TomW) and Robin posting these threads and we'll try to keep enough of them running to keep the natives from getting restless.  These first couple of weeks are going to be a bit bumpy as well since we're just getting started posting with multiple users and figuring out what the community wants.  There might also be some cool features rolled out by our gracious hosts in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled for that.  I'll roll out an avatar and a banner by next week as well to dress the place up a bit.

In that spirit, what would you like to see here?  Should we do more technical discussions about cameras and camera settings to get ideal pictures, should we just focus on having a place to post pics or some combination?  I was thinking of having a weekly topic to send our shutterbugs out to capture (or rummage through their collections) for pictures on various topics from industry and agriculture to faith and pets.

Of course, the beauty of the blog is that you can change the community just by posting.  If there's something that interests you, put it out there.  The only thing I ask is that everything you post here be your own work.

OK, let's get started.
