I live in a rural part of Bakersfield, the county in fact. Does that make us unacceptable for high speed internet. I can think of no other people in town who do so much online and who have to put up with the slowest connection possible than my friends and I.
There are large businesses out here; Frito Lay and Bolthouse Farms for example. But the hundreds of houses in between Bakersfield and Buttonwillow are forced to use dial up or pay $60 a month with a $500 installation fee for a satellite ISP.
Did I mention that Buttonwillow residents have high speed internet available? Well, they do. How can Brighthouse skip us? Where are the lines running? Is there a satellite substation in Buttonwillow? How come they don't include us?
I would do anything to have high speed internet out here. So I'm asking, What do I have to do to get a high speed internet connection for myself and the 400+ residents around me?
