Lots of opinions were published this week about local restaurants. I'm not sure if I agree with them all.

Pete Tittl
The resident food critic of The Bakersfield Californian, Pete Tittl, reviewed the Red Pepper in this Thursday's Eye Street. Some of the Inside Guide reviewers don't rave about the Red Pepper like Pete did. What do you think?

Dining Divas from Bakersfield Life
In the upcoming issue of Bakersfield Life this Saturday, the Dining Divas take in the tastes and aromas of Champs BBQ. They loved it. Do you?

Do you think you could do it too?
You think you'd be a good critic? Let me know! I'm forming a "Review Crew" to hit up some local businesses and share our ratings and reviews! There may be some special perks too! :)

Here are some recent reviews on the Inside Guide that made me giggle.

I enjoy getting lunch here, especially when I have coworkers in from out of town.  Nothing like  good nose running chile verde to make your day a little spicier.

Even though I had to wait 30 mins for the waitress to take my lunch order and another 30 mins to receive the food; I must give this place a high review.  The lamb sandwich is KILLER.  For all I know, someone called in sick or they were training someone new...   Find out the Restaurant & Rating

... The only thing that bothered me was where the bathroom was, it was sort of odd, outside in the back in the employee parking lot.  It was chilly that night, so it was sort of an inconvenience and scary for a girl like me to have to walk outside to wash my hands :(  ...
If you liked them too, be sure to help make the reviewer trusted by marking the review as helpful!

Reflecting on 2007, I was living in autopilot. I need to mix things up a bit.

One of my problems is that I'm a bit of a couch potato at night. I get lazy and then don't do the things I would rather do- like read or paint.... or what I SHOULD do- like clean and exercise.

So, my resolution for 2008, is to watch less TV. The writer's strike has gotten me to watch less, but I need to keep the momentum going. I thought about cutting off my digital cable subscription, but I don't think I can go cold turkey like that.

I usually watch KGET, TLC, PBS, CNN, and Bravo. I do end up watching a lot of mind-numbing crap too.So, what about you? What do you end up watching? Are you a couch potato too?

Did you know that you can review the local TV stations on the Inside Guide? What do you think of our local tv newcasts? Be sure to rate them!
