The birds have to use pot holders to pull worms out of the ground.

You can make sun tea instantly.

You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.

You discover that in August it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.

You discover that you can get sunburned through your window.

You actually burn your hand by opening the car door.

You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 am.

The potatoes cook underground so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter.

Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.

Well I am moving this weekend.. tomorrow to be exact.. I have so many emotions going through my mind/body right now...I start my new job in Bakersfield Monday, doing something that I have never done before, which will be exciting....

I never thought I’d see myself saying Bakersfield I’m coming back..

After 3 years of being with my now ex-boyfriend, It feels as if I’m going through a divorce (minus the cost), who gets what, who deals with this/that ect... the house is split in half; he gets this, I get that, and the memories are flowing through my mind as I’m packing our house up...

This is a big change for me, since I left Bakersfield 3 and a half years ago... I feel as if im ready for it, but is Bakersfield even the same? Everyone goes through life changes, and I have had a lot of change in my life, so why is this time affecting me so much?

School, work, family, that is my goal, im not worried about anything else but bettering myself for the future, so why is this so hard?

Sorry I just had to vent. *hope my spelling and grammar are correct LOL*

I found this very irritating and actually hurtful this morning..

As I am driving to work today, I see this car that is driving, just an older car, nothing fancy about it... and I get a little closer and see that there is a Calvin Hobbs sticker on the back (you know what im talking about, the ones where he is peeing on something) and as I get a little closer I am noticing what this sticker is implying. Under where Calvin is peeing is the word "America".

At that point in time I had so many emotions racing through my body, anger, disgust, disappointment, and the list goes on. I didn’t know if I wanted to run him off the road, or attempt to follow him and ask why his car would say this, but then I realized he may not even speak English, and my Spanish skills aren’t the best.

This is something that has been bothering me all morning long. I just wonder, what would happen if we (Americans) went into someone else’s country with a pee on "whatever country" sticker on our car.

My thoughts on this, if you don’t like our country...GET OUT.

Yours Truly,

**PROUD AMERICAN CITIZEN**

I don’t understand why people don’t respect others belongings...

Last night I received a rude wake up call, I came home to my house at 10:30 at night and saw that the plastic cover to my doggie door to my back door had been kicked in... then I saw the finger prints on the windows of what was clearly someone trying to slide my window to get into my house. Luckily nothing was stolen, I don’t even believe they were able to get in my house.

That comes to the point, I have no a great respect for the things I have (even more then I did before), and I do not understand why people would rather steal then work to have nice things..

I know that there are thieves, liars, cheats ect in this world, but like the old saying goes, i never thought it could happen to me. Then it did, thankfully nothing was taken, but I still made a police report.

Why cant people just work for what they want instead of stealing others hard earned items?

I know that it could have been worse, but it has been on my mind all day.

As I am growing up I am noticing that more kids are getting brand new cars...

Take for instance yesterday, a 15 year old girl just got her PERMIT last week, and now her grandparents just bought her a 2008 Malibu. As I was raised, when you get your first car (if your parents choose to buy you one) its usually a old junky car, that as your learning to drive you can get a dent and ding here and there and its okay... but I have been noticing more and more that young 15,16,17 year old kids are getting brand new cars. Is it a safety issue, since newer cars are being built around safety?

As a 20 year female with no children I do not understand why a parent would buy a young kid a new car, but then again I do not have children yet.

What are your views on buying a new car vs. buying an old car as a first car for your newly licensed teenager?
