Why We Shouldn't Vote For Barack
So I was sitting here watching the Daliy Show and thinking... how nice is it that the republicans have given us so many wonderful years of absurdity worthy of a comedy show. But then I thought... crap when Barack is elected who will they have to make fun of. I mean, he actually uses logic as opposed to fear mongering and bravado. That isn't funny. Poor John Stewart. So I am thinking... maybe we should vote for McCain so we can laugh our asses off at him for 4 years. I mean, it's not like the president can really do that much without congress anyway, so why not put another baffoon in. Laughter is the best medicine. 51 comments from 17 users

Obama will be no different than the Clinton's or the Bushes. Obama is a globalist tool. To bad McCain is just as bad.

Any president is going to be a globalist tool by your definition I am guessing, but you are right. Still, at least Obama is coherent and logical. McCain can't even use a computer. Maybe the first year of the presidency can be him learning how to get online. That would give the Daily Show at least 20 episodes right there. posted by

Not necessarily. Ron Paul is an outstanding individual & would of made a great president. Many Americans are easily mesmerized by the MSM lies.

Infowar, Your right about both, but at least McCain is not planning on disarming our nuclear weapons, so as to set a good example for our enemies, because Obama has a vision of a nuclear free world I shutter to think of what is going to happen to us (our country) after he accomplishes that, if he does. McCain has a foot in the bone yard and he knows it. His fundie-girlfriend is being groomed for the White House. At her acceptance speech, she said parents of special-needs kids "will have a friend in the White House." She wasn't referring to McCain. The candidates are Obama and fundie-girl from Alaska. McCain is a dead man walking. posted by

i watched the stupid speech. I know what she said and what context it was in. McCain came onto that stage as a tottering old man. Makes me sad for a venerable patriot. I didn't miss his animation when he spoke of "introducing" his fundie-girlfriend to Washington. He didn't say he's going to take charge, he said he was going to sic his bulldog in lipstick on them. posted by

McCain would probably knock you out. McBush is two years overdue for his coronary, and he thinks the equivalent of the Mayor of Oildale, recently elected to head a county board of supervisors, can fill in for him. Must have as low an opinion of his own qualifications as I do. posted by

Yeah Tridge, I see your point. You humorless Dems can't bring yourself to laugh at the long list of gaffes coming from the mouth of the lord and messiah. Like seeing dead people in the crowd at a Memorial day campaign stop or telling Pennsylvanians how he likes their "Nittally Lions". Not funny at all. No, what's not funny is imagining how this unqualified empty suited man-child will destroy the country if Joe Biden dies. posted by

Decmocratick strategy for energy independence => Don't increase supply of hydrocarbon based reserves. Just wait for their acceptable alternatives. The Republicans, especially Palin, want to do it all - nuclear, bio-fuels [especially micro algaes-LS9 and algae-link], geo-thermal, wind, tides, clean coal, enhanced reserves and more effective secondary and tertiary recover of nat gas & crude (OCS ANWR), conservation, CNG, solar........ all of it. But until we get there, their bridge with hydrocarbons will ensure we get there. The Dems bridge ends in the middle of nowhere. Nowhere whilst we wait for their "acceptable alternatives". The idiots won't know until people start using what little fuel they have left to drive off that bridge to nowhere........... posted by

Oh my..now I AM laughing at some of the accusations. Sarah Palin has been the nominee for 7 days and some of those days were at the convention. Some spent traveling, some spent preparing speeches, some being prepped on issues. And you guys are going to crucify her for not being on a talk show? Did you LISTEN to Obama when O'Reilly reminded him he'd been trying to get an interview for 9 months or so? He said I've been a little busy." Sarah has had a week. posted by

Perhaps if O'Reilly was a talking-head respected for his neutrality, open mindedness, truthfulness etc. (like Charlie Rose) instead of being a right-wing hitman, perhaps he would have gotten a quicker interview. I enjoyed Barry with O'Rielly. I can't wait for the one on one -- Barry spotted him 10 points (out of 11). I hope his jumper is working! (Bill is 6'4") I noticed they filmed the angles so Barry actually looked taller. He must have insisted. Bill doesn't care. He just wanted him on. I haven't seen the second one, but it was a good move for Barry. I think he and Bill had some actual chemistry. But 10 points? A little hubris perhaps? I can see Barry missing a jumper and Bill backing him in and doing a hook. Bill wins! Wonder if they'll really play? Good move for both of them though -- I actually kinda like Barry. He said some good things about guns last night too..... Don't get worried though -- But if Sarah hadn't come along............. (going to Turlare and Visalia Repub HQ later on to do some directed Repub calling, etc........ wasn't going to but Sarah got this old blood flowin........ ;-) posted by

gopher, Charlie Rose, give me a break. He handled Obama with kit gloves. Pleeez! "Obama willingly faced the tiger in his lair and did a great job from what I've seen so far". His facial expressions were timid. I will reserve my total opinion for Wed night, as that is when the last of the interview will happen. I will say, I'd rather he (O'Reilly) had have shown the interview all in one night. Dragging stuff out is an irritant to me. Oh well, Ratings! posted by

Oprah is in a no win situation. If she has Palin on and asks the hard questions she'll be acccused if bias and attack. If she doesn't, she'll be criticized for going soft because________________(insert reason here.) Sage, what most people don't seem to understand is that The Daily Show is not about satirizing politicians. It's about satirizing moronic cable news shows. And no matter who wins in November, *THEY* aren't going away anytime soon. That's why Fox's version bombed so terribly--they couldn't bring themselves to satirize their own business model, so they tried to make it about politics instead. No worries that he'll run out of material even if the country collectively goes sane and elects Obama. posted by
