MCCain Shoes!!!??
U know, I am 53 years old and in all my life I do not think the total of all the shoes I have owned in my entire life time would equal $510.00!!? I would venture with what lil hair he n I have, I would say he pays over $200 bucks for a hair cut, think how much he spends on make up? I bet you that one suit n shoes, cost more that I made for the past 3 years, So tell me what is he going to do for us regular people, people who just barley make it,? He's supported by Big Biz and big oil, and the military... if he gets in, their taxes, which they really don't pay, will go down and be given more breaks while we, the population gets a $600 check, Do u realize that if the government wanted to they could give every man n woman over 21, $500,000.00 each, and still not even feel it, Next they'll be tellin us we have to keep 5 streets in our neighborhood swept up and clean so they can put a sign up sayin that Vincent Leeds cleans up this street? What happened to the monies allotted for clean up, well its all went up in smoke it's only castles burning....... 9 comments from 6 users

After I could tell my Mother "No thanks"~ I either trim mine myself or it does not get done,my clothes come from second hand stores ~ but contrary to popular rumor I am not running for office.Personally that amount of money will make PG&E happy for another 30 days. So,no I do not think McCain "gets " me or my life. posted by

Gee, Pax, I spend almost $10 on every one of my haircuts. Adjusting for the disparity in disposable income between his family and mine, I roughly calculate that if I were signing Edwards' 1040 every year, I'd be spending $500 on each one. Not that I'd *DO* that, not that *HE* did that, but the equivalent cost would be the same. There's an old show-biz story where a famous actress (Liz Taylor, maybe?) was going to play a poor farm girl. The costume designer sketched up a dress for her character, and said getting it made would run about $1000. Someone in the meeting said, "Hey, wait--isn't that a dress we could pick up at a small-town general store for around $10?" Reportedly the costume designer looked at him and said "So...do *YOU* want to tell her?" They went with the $1000 dress. Is a $500 haircut 50 times as good as mine? It is if the guy paying for it thinks so.

I understand that it is hard to understand why anyone would spend $500 on a haircut or twice that on a pair of shoes... agree or diagree..it's their money...they can pretty much do with it what they want.. But that isn't the point of my comment today... my main point is the stated idea that everyone 21 and over could recieve $500K and government wouldn't feel it. I am a bit fuzzy on the math...but if you give every man and woman over 21 (196,899,193 -- 2000 Census) $500,000 each. 196,899,193 X $500,000 = $98,449,596,500,000.00 & nbsp; So roughly $98.5 Trillion. I think they might feel it a bit. The US's GDP is $13.84 Trillion (2007 est.) ...so I think giving away roughly 7 times that... may hurt a bit.

As I understand, some barbers give famous politicians, especially the president, "$500" haircuts free for the publicity. "I cut the president's hair." Alot of first lady designer gowns are free for the same reason. Jackie Kennedy regularly wore a "Joe Blow (or whoever) creation" to plug American fashion designers. posted by

yes it may hurt a bit, but when the govt needs money they simply print it up and that's called inflation... I was tryin to make a point, I mean how many trillions are we in debt now? they keep on printing it up, money means nothin to them, and we wonder why a 3 dollar hair cut now cost 15 bucks, I think there should be a law that states that any one who has over 5 million dollars should donate 80% of any monies over that, to the US Citizens, just think we get a $600 stimulus check, and that wouldn't even cover a pair of McCain's shoe bills, I bet he has them professionally shined at a tune of 200 bucks each, I am just showin how when u get so much money, you think ur poor if u only have 5 million, I mean if ya got say 20 million in your back pocket, why ask for welfare, Why does Home Depot and the like get special low interest loans, when they put so many ma n pa store out of biz, again I say if ya got $50 million in your back pocket why ask for a special low interest rate, we cant, why should any large company ask for welfare from the govt, they do and we give it to them and we get a lousy 600 bucks, HA, that's a spit in the face of the regular people who have to struggle to stay alive, Ok then just the people $10,000 each that we could afford, if we would cut off our military spending for one year we could rebuild the whole country, V posted by

In fairness, McCain is married to a rich broad. I believe she got him the shoes. Personally, I'd like to see politicians wear flip-flops from Walmart. That would be a fashion statement. posted by
