Those are great, Way; so rich in history, tradition, and beautiful art.  I will bet you had a very good time.

Thanks for sharing them.  :)

The art in the chapels is breath-taking.  Did the monks build the monastery (including art and mosaics)?

The Fathers did most of the work in constructing and maintaining the grounds, but  I know some Nuns from the Women's Monasteries provided some Iconographers ( Artist who can make Icons or pictures of spiritual subjects according to a strict, ancient tradition.)  The Monastery also hires outside contractors to provide Journeymen when needed.

Any one traveling the I10 between Phoenix, AZ and Tuscon, AZ is free to drop in and visit for the day.  Longer stays require a blessing from the Fathers to make sure that accommodations won't be over booked.  You can get the details by visiting their Web page: http://www.stanthonysmonast...

There is also a Women's Monastery close to Fresno, Ca, at the town of Dunlap, Ca.
