Cookie Monster is one of my favourite characters.  Being that we are now in the 21st Century, he has evolved from the bugged eyed  gluttonous blue haired monster of the 1970's to a real technical guru.

Due to increasing obesity rates, cookie monster eats a lot of fruits and vegetables.  He only eats cookies on special occasions.  :)

One of the earliest computer viruses was the Cookie Monster virus.  At random intervals it would type "GIMME COOKIE!" on the screen, and would go away if you typed "cookie."

It's true. About five years ago, Sesame Street decided to make Cookie Monster healthier.  I'll find an article about it.

I guess they would have to set a good example for the kids.

PBS Kids has a kids' game on their website with Grover helping cookie monster pick out healthy vegetables and fruit. Grover says to eat a wide range of fruits and vegetables with various colors.

Changing Cookie Monster's eating habits was ridiculous. I was watching Ducktails a few years ago and noticed that in a scene where a character was smoking a pipe, they did a voice over that said "Smoking is bad for your health. Don't smoke." I get why they need to do this but I grew up watching these shows and cartoons and I'm not obese or a smoker. How about putting some of the responsibility back on the parents.
