I would have bet my chips on Hindus or some other superstition to make a fuss about swatting a fly. I've respected PETA for the awareness they have raised about the humane treatment of animals. I'm disappointed they'd get this fanatical and stupid.

Religion is religion.  Some people crusade for animal rights, some for the environment, some for atheism or other ideologies.  It is the same behavior just misdirected from the one Being worthy of worship;(

I thought PETA stood for People for the Ethical Treatment of Attorneys?

I think Sioux might have missed the point of this post.  It is a joke to call Obama a animal hater on such a slim report as it is a joke for liberals to credit all their present problems [ achene, inability to get a date, bad breath ] and such on George Bush or the Republican Party , or Religion.

Good Grief!  The world gets sillier and sillier.  I guess we now need a "save the fly" month.

I always though PETA stood for People Eating Tasty Animals!!!  We raise the best organic home grown broiler chickens this side of the Mississippi if I may say so myself. Nice little fat juicy birds they are! Our organic eggs are pretty good too.  We are going to try lambs next year. We love lamb chops. Then a cow.....ummmm, yummy....organic grass fed steaks. :o)

I heard about this yesterday morning.  I'll admit.. I was listening to Inga (crazy, I know...), and she mentioned something like, "Do PETA people have to tip-toe across the room with a magnifying glass to make sure they don't step on any ants?"

You would think that Obama would have his secret service detail take care of the fly.

WAITER!  There's a fly on my president!

As eccentric as PETA can get sometimes, those women protesting in the buff never fail to get my attention. : )

I am an animal lover, and even I think PETA are fanatics.

I have to apologize to Sioux.  I made this comment assuming that Sioux thought this blog was a cheap shot at Obama.  I didn't bother to check his links until now to find out that Sioux was really commenting about PETA.  Again may apologies;(

While I completely understand that celebrities and those in the public eye are scrutinized at a higher level, I find it extremely disturbing that so much time has been wasted on this whole "Obama vs. The Fly" issue....how many people can honestly say that they have never killed a fly?? Now, I'm going to be entirely honest here and admit that I have never studied up on the Fly, but  are there really more pros than cons of maintaining the "fly population"? Maybe PETA should spend their time and resources on issues that REALLY matter....

the fly needed to be killed

what i disagree with is the government media complex (abc, nbc, cbs, cnn, mslsd) giving him kudos for it

any kudos for what HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE DOING?

Yup I give Pesident Obama kudos for most things, I wish he had appoint Howard Dean for Sec. of Health, I still want gitmo shut down, I am  riding the fence on kiss and don't tell.
