What is a Alcoholic?
The best definition of a Alcoholic that I have ever heard is'' It doesn't matter how much or how often you drink. What matters is WHAT HAPPENS to you when you drink. I would like to know what your definition of a Alcoholic is. 55 comments from 13 users

Ahhhhh..freedom of choice..... how can you help those that refuses to help themselves...to some, it's a way of life...to others, it's a living hell...to me, I earned the way I choose to live my life...it's easy to sit back and classify and point fingers...me, I'll just sit this one out...with a cold brew and pain medication from the V.A.....another way of life...there are many trails down the path of life...just choose one and follow posted by

An alcoholic is someone who has to drink. Someone who has to drink just to make it through the day. According to criteria for a condition to be considered a disease, I guess it is so. I think some people have a hard time understanding alcoholism as a disease, because we're so inundated with ads for alcohol. Since it is so freely advertised and legal, people see it as a choice and have little sympathy for those who are caught up in the "disease". posted by
