Narrow southwest road issues

Q: Is Buena Vista Road between White Lane and Panama ever going to be widened at the railroad crossing? While we’re in that neighborhood, when will Panama Lane be widened at its railroad crossing?
— Bill Steck

A: The Buena Vista Road railroad widening project is being designed now, but it needs approval from the California Public Utilities Commission and the San Joaquin Valley Railroad. Construction would begin six to 18 months after that approval.
The Panama Lane railroad widening is also a budgeted project, but the design has not yet begun.
