What's going up on the northeast corner of Fairfax Road and Auburn Street
Location:
Fairfax Road and Auburn Street,
Bakersfield, CA
Q: What is being built on the northeast corner of Fairfax Road and Auburn Street? — Amber Dominguez
A: Expect a gas station to join the two fuel stops already at the intersection. The site will have a mini-market, gas pumps and a drive-through automated car wash, according to Bakersfield city planning department documents. ARCO and Circle K stations also occupy spots at Auburn Street west of Fairfax Road. Construction on the new station started about a month and a half ago, said project manager Tom Hersom of Wallace and Smith General Contractors. The station should be open by fall, he said. The Auburn Street entrance to the U.S. Postal Service annex next door will be closed and replaced with an entrance at Auburn Oaks Drive, Hersom said. A wall along Auburn Oaks Drive will be covered in vines to deter graffiti and evergreen trees will be included in the landscaping, according to the planning department. 0 comments from 0 users
