bakoblue - > Confessions of a Pet Parent -> Pet people have a little pawty
Pet people have a little pawty

And they said it couldn’t be done.

Last night, despite a healthy dose of cynicism from folks on both sides, people on either side of some of the most hotly debated animal-related issues in the area got together to work on a plan to benefit the companion animals at the Kern County Animal Control shelter.

And it was a polite, friendly, positive experience, with nary a negative word directed at anyone who came. Because despite our disagreements, everyone there has a deep passion and respect for pets and wants to see positive changes made.

I want to thank each and every person who attended. None of us were quite sure how it would all work out, but you all had enough faith to give it a try.

Of course, food always helps smooth the path towards friendship and mutual understanding, so to the anonymous benefactor who funded our gathering, my thanks go to you as well.

Maybe next time we’ll have yappy-hour paw-tinis. And come up with some coolio name for our growing group. I'm sure paw-tinis will help stimulate our creative juices.

Bako - Yes it was an awesome event.  I hope our blended group can make some big changes for Kern's critters.  Love the paw-tini idea....
