Good morning, Bakersfield! I'll be heading out to the site of the Buck Owens recording studios to (God willing) record a handful of tunes paying tribute to the history of this place, in the process of closing its doors. Songs to be recorded include There's a Ghost in This Building, Walls of Sound are Falling, Phat Chance, and Last Man Standing.  If time permits,  I've also written End of the World, paying tribute to World Records, another historic Kern County musical landmark.  

The session (representing the final page in the final chapter of the history of these studios), taking place this morning, is closed to the public, and, per management, please do not bring TV cameras.  

I sincerely apologize to representatives of the press that have tried to inquire about that possibility.  If it were up to me I would allow cameras, even though it is well known that I have a marked disdain for publicity, and any form, hint or scintilla of fame, or the prospect of it :).  I respect the wishes of the management and it supports my desire to keep a low profile.  

For those from the press that have been trying to reach me, I am available for questions about the project before and after the session, so please call me if you have an interest in this recording tribute session.  

But the results will be available in a form of a maxi CD single or an EP, tentatively entitled The Buck Owens Studios Farewell Session.
