Welcome to today's edition of Bakersfield Sound Trivia Quest. I'm Dr. BLT. I'll be your host. Today, we're projecting into the future of the Bakersfield Sound with the introduction of the future group, Grungedawg Squaredance, and their new song, If Korn went Kountry. Today's Bakersfield Sound trivia quest challenge is to identify each member of this group, Grungedawg Squaredance. The group asked me to write this song for them, and since experimental fusion is something I'm really into, I agreed, at the risk that the experiment would result in one big musical disaster. The lead singer's voice sounds pretty horrifying on this song. Maybe I made a mistake by signing the band to my indie label (nu bako sound recordings/KrockeRecords). Of course this is krock (Kern County Country rock) with a punkountry flavor, so maybe the voice is supposed to sound crappy. Who knows. Maybe it was my failure to bring out the best of his voice as a recording engineer in the BuckarooM. What do you think? Should I replace the lead singer? That's the bonus question.
