On bein' a Bucknik: Lyric today, hear it tomorrow

This song speaks for itself.  So why am I speaking?  Okay, I'll shut up.  There should be a recording of this coming out of the BuckarooM shortly.  I'll keep you posted.

On bein' a Bucknik

words and music by Dr BLT copyright 2008

Nu Bako Sound Recordings/Krocker Records

bein' a bucknik is cool

you don't have to follow rules

bein' a bucknik means that its okay

to play the fool

you put yourself out on a limb

and don't care if it breaks

takin' a risk for a bucknik

is the key to bucknik fate

chorus:

so be a bucknik

be yourself

be a bucknik

don't sit there on a shelf

be a bucknik

do somethin' new

start a new style of country music

mix it with some buckin' blues

bein' a bucknik

means diggin' your boots

into the past

not takin' for granted

the heroes

it means you give a hoot

you pay lots of tribute

but never stay stuck inside the past

you take it to all kinda levels

all the while you have a blast

bein' a bucknick

is pretty cool

sayin' thanks to the daddy o's of country

Kern kings ---and they all still rule

bein't a bucknik

means you take risks

don't worry what other people think

or whether you'll get lots of hits

(chorus)

Do chicks, like, go wild over buckniks?

Time will tell.  The rise of the buckniks is a relatively new phenomenon, so I can't be sure.  My guess is that they probably will.  After all, what's not to like about a bucknik?
