Oh Nancy! Why is a non-partisan like me unabashedly bashing Pelosi in this rock song?
I was doing great in my self-imposed partisan recovery program, but I fear I've fallen off the wagon. When I heard Nancy Pelosi's bitterly partisan diatribe in the midst of the delicate bail-out negotiations last week, it was if she reached out, grabbed me and yanked me off the wagon, forcing me to get caught back up in the partisan bickering I have so vehemently opposed in recent weeks. For all of you let's-all-join-hands-and-sing Kumbaya non-partisans (all two of you) out there, I assure you, I'll be back on the wagon soon. In the meantime, I hope you are either delighted (if you're a Republican partisan), or are bitterly disgusted with it, if you happen to be a partisan Pelosi-loving liberal. You're all a bunch of partisans. You deserve what you get :) The song will be added to my "Lipstick" CD tomorrow at: So sit back, activate the song sample by hitting the play button on the attached play station, and either fume, fight or get festive. The gloves are off for now. I'm back in the partisan ring. Please wish me a speedy recovery. Oh Nancy! words and music by Dr BLT copyright 2008
Oh Nancy why do you have to lecture the Republicans today? you wear a fake smile but your fangs are sticking out why do you call yourself our friend Oh Nancy, Oh Nancy Oh Nancy, Oh Nancy
Oh Nancy you act like Democrats are sheep Republicans, the wolves but how many of you Dems profited from Fannie Mae you think we do not know?! Oh Nancy, Oh Nancy Oh Nancy, oh Nancy

I didn't listen to the song, just like you didn't listen to her speech. Nice try though. You can't convince me you watch CSPAN in your spare time. I'm thinking you were feeding off what you heard from a few Republicans. Probably the ones desperate to block any bipartisan deal (like McCain). Hey did you hear about McCain's interview with the Des Moines Register? posted by

Yes, PP2, I do watch C-SPAN and I did see the speech, so maybe you'll re-consider your decision not to listen to the song. I'm counting on you to either become one of my biggest fans or to give me some good, bad publicity about the song. That just goes to show you the limits of our personal stereotypes and prejudices. I thought Democrats were all about us all getting more in touch with our feelings and being sensitive, random. I guess that only applies to other Democrats and those with religions other than Christianity. BTW, Nancy, feel free to ask that all you want. Thanks, we appreciate the link. The more fair and balanced information we have at our disposal, the better off we are. posted by

What's this about Pelosi paying her husband out of campaign funds? Gee, if I were you I wouldn't vote for her, Nancy, even if you like her first name. What's this about McBush getting a free ride on his drug-addicted wife's private jet plane? posted by

I'm actually a registered Green. I don't like Pelosi because she continually votes to continue the dreaded Iraq War. A lot of Democrats and other liberals are also against the bailout. I think I would support a bill that Representative Kucinich is supporting, which would provide greater protection for American taxpayers. posted by

That's great to hear BLT. I didn't figure your TV watching habits were that dull. I usually only watch it during the conventions, debates, or when I'm in bed sick. Don't count on me listening too much. Where I'm sitting, it wouldn't be very smart of me.
[GASP] a politician paying their spouse out of campaign funds??? That's almost unheard of, except that it happens all the time. I'm not a huge Pelosi fan either. She took impeachment off the table. There's always next year though. By far my favorite Representative has to be Kucinich. Although he's a bit too angry at times, he's the most rational member of the House. He's not bought out like so many others. posted by

Why is it so hard to just respond to the article rather than a personal attack? It's silly to even bring my name into this regarding Pelosi's name. I don't think McCain riding on his wifes plane is the same as paying ones spouse out of campaign funds donated by people to get a person elected. Some just can't pass up a chance to bring up the "drug addicted wife" thing no matter what the discussion is. That's a slap in the face to every person who has overcome addiction and gone on to live a productive life. It should be enough just to say he rode on his wifes plane. edited to change positions of paragraphs. posted by

You were never ON the wagon, BLT. You must have blinked because, obviously, you missed it. Please don't shatter my illusion, Laurah, or I may be so disgusted in myself that I'll never even try to get back on this wagon that supposedly never existed. If I feel like I'm travelling on a bridge to nowhere, I may just end up going backwards. posted by

Why is it so hard to just respond to the article rather than a personal attack? It's silly to even bring my name into this regarding Pelosi's name. Because you're posting it as a distraction. McBush's sleazy campaign tactics, however, are actually relevant. The "first name" thing was a "joke," by the way. You claim expertise in the field. Do you know any "former" drug addicts? . OK, I'll comment on the article: So Nancy Pelosi is accused of doing something legal, something other members of Congress are presumably doing--since she supported a bill to ban the practice, which failed. Have I summed it up accurately? Can we now return to the discussion of whether the 777-point drop in the Dow on Monday, caused by Republican failure to live up to their responsibilities, was a justifiable response because Nancy Pelosi talked mean about the WATB's? She played politics and thus prevented them from doing so. posted by

McSame's "charm" is starting to show through: Republican presidential candidate John McCain, once renowned for his jocular sessions with journalists, appeared irritable and at times sarcastic in an interview in which he defended running mate Sarah Palin's experience and campaign ads critical of rival Barack Obama.

The Neo-Cons love Pelosi far more than the “Liberals”.
Pelosi has a single, most important priority as Speaker of the House.
That priority is acting shill for AIPAC, and the pro Zionist lobbies for Israel.
Her recent diatribe against the bail out bill was simply pandering to her constituency, since Cindy Sheehan is doing better than expected in her run against Pelosi for her seat in the House of Representatives.
Back in March 2007, it was Pelosi who quietly agreed to strip out of the $100 billion funding bill for Iraq a provision that would have required President Bush to seek congressional approval before launching any new war on Iran.
Why did Pelosi capitulate? Answer: She was "under pressure from some conservative members of her caucus, and from lobbyists associated with neoconservative groups that want war with Iran and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
This is no surprise. Our foreign policy in the Mid East has been dominated by Israel since the Johnson Administration.
Pelosi took “impeachment off the table” two years ago because AIPAC demanded it. The present Neo-Con dominated administration is best for Israeli interests in the region.
According to Pelosi, the biggest danger to Israel today comes from Iran, whose nuclear ambitions, though still unproved, also somehow threaten the US. Her perspective contains the seed of ominous things to come, because, after all, something will have to be done about Iran, right????
Yes, and soon if AIPAC has it’s way.
Meanwhile, Pelosi manages to overlook Israel’s brutal treatment of the Palestinians, which undoubtedly is the greatest danger to Israel, by far, and comes from within.
Nor does she mention Israel’s massive nuclear, chemical and biological weapons arsenal.
But her statements additionally contain the tacit and troublesome assumption that the only people in the region who matter are Israelis and Americans. Everyone else, virtually the entire population of numerous countries ( around 1 billion people), though no less imperiled by nuclear weapons (arguably even more so), simply don’t count in this calculus. In fact, Pelosi’s remarks are implicitly racist for this reason.
The USA had no enemies in the Middle East, until we began our blind support of racist Zionism.
A member of Congress takes an oath to defend and protect the Constitution, and put American interests first above all.
Pelosi is simply a traitor. posted by

This only goes to show that you can sing the same song, but for much different reasons. I'm glad we're singing the same song about Nancy Pelosi. That being said, the only mask I'd be more terrified to behold at my doorstep on Halloween, or on the senate floor, for that matter, is a mask of Cindy Sheehan. posted by

I'm not a fan of Pelosi myself. I think her leadership has been lacking and so far she has delivered shallow promises. She never stood up to Bush and tacitly supported his agendas when she has had opportunities to make a stand. She's too politically safe for me. Also, I'm glad the bailout is not working. If we need to vote on creating money out of thin air to create this flow of currency so people can have credit perhaps we should do something different. The government is admitting that the masses have to continue their credit addiction for the economy to work. Who wants to continue on that path? I don't.
