ONE MAN BAND "ABSOLUTELY" BANNED at blogger's Bush-bashing site? Is this fascism?

Perhaps my memory is failing me.  Perhaps I'm beginning to experience the type of hallucinations that involve things disappearing before my very eyes.  Would a person virulently attacking the Bush administration for a style supposedly redolent of "fascism" actually be excercising the same type "absolute power," so vehemently despised by censoring (even altogether deleting) the thought-provoking comments of a moderate conservative like myself---comments that by no stretch of the imagination violate basic principles of blog comments?  Time for a reality check.  Are any other moderate conservative thinkers out there being banned from the biggest Bush-bashing site at Bakersfield.com?  Have any other honest visitors who commented at said site yesterday witnessed the odd disappearance of my comments?

If it turns out to have been a technical glitch of some kind, I assume you'll print an apology...

Dude..you got banned from where? Its not right, even I wouldn't ban you and you piss me off more times than not BLT..

the last line was in jest..but seriously wtf are you talking about?

First strategy of censorship perpetrators: DENY, DENY, DENY.  Notice I didn't mention any names and I phrased my blog in the form of a question.  I'm going to be contacting the Bush administration to conduct a full investigation :)  Seriously, I posted several comments at a certain Bush-bashing site here yesterday that are all oddly missing today.  At this point, I'm not pointing fingers, and if proven wrong about my allusion to censorship as a possible explanation, I will eat humble pie: BIG TIME.

Hey Doc, where did you get banned from?  Got a link for us?

Check your recent comments on "My Settings" or something close to that. I don't actually recall you commenting on that blog. I've had stuff dissapear too, but I very highly doubt that you've been censored by dusty.

Deny what, BLT?   Enough people have been mistaken about comments "disappearing" that a glitch would be my first assumption.

Dude, I just checked the "blog in question" and you have comments on there. Check again.

Is this about Dusty's blog yesterday?  I just went over there and saw all of the Doc's comments.  Probably a system glitch.  How many times have you tried to load a page and had graphics missing?  I've seen comments of my own appear and disappear.  The site has problems, no doubt, but Dusty isn't censoring anyone.

Before this descends into whatever, everyone take a deep breath.  Dusty didn't delete anything, but I see where the Doc is coming from since he was a lone voice over there.  I trust both Dusty and Blognroll, so let's not go to DefCon 1 over a system glitch.

DO YOU WANT TO PLAY A GAME?  HOW ABOUT A GAME OF CHESS?

Later.  Let's Play Iraqi Civil War.  (Remember:  the only winning move is...not to play...)

BLT..I would not censor you..unless it was a personal attack on a commenter..and you aren't mocus..so what commment is missing? There are 2 pages worth of comments on several of my posts..did you check the 2nd page?

Yes, dusty, if you are referring to your site (which I never mentioned by name), then I did check the second page and initially found no comments of mine.  A few moments later, shortly after the Bakersfield BLOG WARS one-man band banned scandal story broke, those comments mysteriously reappeared.  As an expression of good will between a moderate right-winger and a liberal, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt.  I've asked you in the latest blog thread if you want me to delete the initial blog, or offer an official or unofficial apology.   I may even being willing to put the apology in the form of a song and post it.  I am for gun control, and for controlling the urge to jump the gun.  So I will go to great lengths to apologize in a way that you would deem suitable.  But, once again, please keep in mind: ANY PRESS IS GOOD PRESS.

It's a timing issue.  If they were gone for a few minutes, that can happen.  As for an apology, if you're going to do it, just apologize and get it done.  It's not really an apology if you try to turn it into something to benefit yourself.  I like you because you're a reasonable person even if we disagree on a few things.  But since everyone here has experienced the same glitch, it seems a bit disingenous to say you're giving Dusty the benefit of the doubt.

Your comments were always there...get a grip. I saw them last night when you posted them. Nothing has mysteriously reappeared dude..we do not have to power to delete and then repost other people's comments on this website..you are aware of that right? So, if they are there..they always were and you appear to be screaming and hollering for naught..either that, or your playing the victim to drive up comments on your own blog.

If you are utlilizing the latter, you remind me of Bush...and that isn't a good reference btw.

When trying to disgrace a pitiful person desperately in need of boosting his own blog action, one should never compare a conservative, even a moderate one, to Bush.  You may intend it to be a criticism or insult, but that person will invariably receive it as a compliment :)  I'm seriously sorry dusty.  I will make the apology more public if you wish and/or delete my initial blog thread.   Think about it.  It could boost both of our ratings.  Seriously, dude, I consider you a friend and I respect you for speaking your mind, even though you've been poisoned by the cyanide of cynicism.

Paranoid runs deep................

posted by blognroll on Sep 6, 2006 at 03:48 PM
You think you've seen paranoia?  Well. in the words of Randy Bachman, and later, in the words of one of the Al Gore's to show up during the course of Al Gore's 2000 run for the presidency, "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet!"  Right now my mind is working on a brand new vast LefteFoot conspiracy theory.
