Terri Shiavo case revisited in light of new brain imaging test
Was Jesse Jackson justified in breaking with liberals by remonstrantly standing in opposition to the decision to snuff out the life of Teri Shiavo? Researchers warn against generalizing recent findings to individual cases such as the Teri Schiavo case. But will new findings (involving brain imaging tests showing a brain-damaged woman in vegetative state to be just aw aware as healthy test subjects) ultimately cast a dark shadow of doubt on the determined drive to end Shiavo's life? Will medical experts and liberals who pushed to pull the plug on Schiavo's life become the Lady Macbeths of the the new millennium? If so, what will they do to hide the hideously conspicuous stains of Shiavo's blood on their hands? Am I stepping out on a limb? That's what the comments section is for. Chop it down or climb out there with me.

Hey BLT,
We were watching this story on the News Hour the other night and my wife made  me promise to pull the plug on her if she could only communicate via her brain waves. Go figure!

To each his/her own.  The thought of being trapped in a body with no way to move absolutely terrifies me.  Pull the plug !  On me that is.

I've recently prepared my Advanced Directive.  It is never enough to tell your family your wishes.  They may not have the courage to carry them out.  This is an issue that should never be left to the courts.  But even with everything decided beforehand, there has to be someone to act in your behalf.   I chose the person I knew would be strong enough to do it.  It took careful consideration, but now that it's done, I know my wishes will be carried out.  I also know I've saved my family the pain and heartache of having to make that decision themselves.  I used an attorney, but I know you can download forms off the internet.  It's something everyone should do for their loved ones.

I think I hear a big gulp from Michael Schiavo.

If you are hearing voices, paxchristi3, it is a shared auditory hallucination.  I heard the same "gulp."

Michael Schiavo did the right thing, the medical tests back him up, and the American people are sick to death of Republicans (and Joe Lieberman, but that's the same thing) playing politics with their personal lives.  In Schiavo's case there was no brain there.  There was no "there" there.  And former doctor Bill Frist, diagnosing long-distance via videotape, was especially disgraceful.
.
Thank God for husbands like Michael Schiavo.

I still can't understand why anyone would listen to anything that Jesse Jackson has to say. People, is was a member of the Black Panthers. They were a Terrorist group, "By Definition". He is also un-appologetic for his association or actions. It honestly boggles my mind, why he's not in Prison to this day. The guy is an opportunist, making a living off of those who he proclaims to protect.........................How Bogus can you get?
