Nu Bako Sound Trivia Quest: Who was the last solo artist to record here?
Welcome to the all new BLOGame TM series, Nu Bako Sound Trivia Quest TM. It's like Bakersfield sound Trivia Quest TM, except it deals with rising artists that are opening themselves up to the influence of the Bakersfield sound genre, while carving out a style of their own. First, let me identify the studio. This started out to be a theatre, then it became the Buck Owens recording studios. Later it evolved into first Fat Tracks, and then Pig Studios. Now for the rules: Simply be the first to correctly identify the last solo artist to record here, and win a free mp3 copy of the Dr. BLT song, Ghost in this Building. There was some argument in the past over who the last solo artist was to record here, but that has since been resolved. The last artist to record at this historic studio was: a. Buck Owens b. Iron Outlaws c. Iron Maiden d. Clay Aiken e. Tom Petty f. Johnny Cash g. Dr. BLT h. The Councilmen i. All of the above j. None of the below Ready? Set? Blog n roll!

Okay, I can see that many of you are struggling with this one, so I won't leave you on the lurch. I'll help you out a little with a clue. The answer is not d. Clay Aiken. posted by

Well, he's probably the biggest celebrity to last set foot in the place, so it's a really good guess, but in terms of the question posted here, I'm sorry to say that it's false. Keep trying. Good luck! posted by

Ahhhwww, LoveVintage beat me to it. Our own Dr BLT. (wasn't this question already asked a few months ago? Albeit in different form, but, yes, I think it was) And as a side note to Vintage, if you have a music program on your computer, you can play an mp3 on it... posted by

Technically, he was the last solo artist to record both audio and visually in the studio (as documented via local news report). He didn't use the mixing console, perhaps, but he nevertheless was 'recorded'. posted by

Bingo, we have a winner! Meestro, Homer Joy is a friend of mine, and, knowing him, he would get a great laugh out of your answer. Your answer is based on tortured logic, but it's creative and you deserve recognition for good effort. LoveVintage, you are the big winner today. If you can't find someone to download the song for you and put it on a CD-R, then contact me and I'll arrange to get you a free hard copy of the song. Rick, you are correct, the question may have been raised in another previous blog, but I'm introducing it again as the anniversary of that recording is rapidly approaching.
