Keep those songs coming: Local artists continue to get airplay on Bakersfield and Beyond: KWMR

Rebellious, underground Kern County country rockers (I call them Kccrockers) haven't had a voice like this in which to showcase their talent since Cousin Herb's Trading Post television broadcast in the original Bakersfield sound era.

Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, Fatt Katt and the Vonzippers, Alyssa Kaess, Dr. BLT (yes, little old me), Big House, Merle Haggard, Ferlin Husky, to name a few.  I say, strike while the iron is hot.

Local artists, bands, duos, send your mp3s to me, Dr BLT, or directly to the radio station in Marin County:

http://www.bakersfieldandbe...

Keep it rockin', keep it rollin', keep it Kccrocker!

PS: If you're out of the FM range but want to catch Bakersfield and Beyond tonight, stream it tonight from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at

http://www.kwmr.org

I come on at about 7:45 pm to talk about the Kern County Country Rocker (Kccrocker) and nu bako music scene, so if you've got something you want me to share with listeners, drop it here in the comments section.

The buzz is going strong about tonight's broadcast of Bakersfield and Beyond.  Rather than try to describe it myself, I'll give you an update straight from Amanda, who joins Mike as the show's delightful diva.  Take it away Amanda!

Looking forward to tomorrow night’s (May 28) Bakersfield and Beyond show on KWMR! Buckaroo Bonet will join us in the KWMR studio for some live tunes (and we’ll play some great tunes as well). Of course we'll be chatting with Dr. BLT and discussing a new book on the Bakersfield Sound that releases later this month! 6:30 - 8:30 PM (Pacific time). Tune in at 90.5 fm or 89.9 fm in West Marin or stream from anywhere in the universe at
