First Kim McAbee, now Theresa Spanke: Kern's country divas on "Billie Jean" (country version)
They're lining up, one by one, to record the Bakersfield Sound's (classic and nu bako sound's) response to the loss of the King of Pop. If you haven't heard, that response is in the form of a country cover of Billie Jean. With the divas on harmony, Jerry Rothberg doing some vocal backup of his own, Reggie Langendorfer on lead guitar and bass, Pat Frase on drums and yours truly on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, arranged by yours truly and penned by Michael Jackson, this version really captures that distinct "k.c.c.r.o.c.k.er" (Kern County country rocker) style. I'm working on lining up one more local diva for the backup harmony tracks, then I'm going to mix the whole thing down, take care of some paper work, and start shopping the song around. I want to thank these immensely talented singers for their eagerness to help out with the project. To find more pictures, a song I wrote that was inspired by a performance Theresa Spanke did at the Crystal Palace, and to hear a pirated, unedited sample of the song, visit: BSU http://www.bakersfieldsound... PS: I didn't use a flash to take this picture, it was her hallo that provided that extra bit of lighting.
