Catch Kern County's Kama Ruby in a rare Bakersfield Sound Underground interview
If you think the Bakersfield Sound is dead and gone, think again. Artists like Kama Ruby, who recently did a brilliant remake of The Door's Light My Fire is featured in her first BSU interview, are standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before, and she's paving her own road. She's got her own "Korner" at BSU now, a series where you can follow and trace her career, just like Penny Marie and her own Lane---Penny Lane, Rockwell has his own Blvd.---Rockwell Canyon Blvd., and Homer Joy has his own series, "Cup 'o Joy." Enough of my carrying on. Here's Kama: Bakersfield Sound Underground (BSU) http://www.bakersfieldsound...

I've known this lovely young lady since she was in 3rd grade. She's extremely talented and determined to be the best she can be. It's a shame we don't see her in live local theater any more -- she puts her heart and soul in every part she plays! Also, watching Kama clog dance is an experience I'll never forget -- she used to perform at the old Melodrama in Oildale.
