Holding up the troops. How do you do that without glamorizing the war? How do you feel about this video? Personally, though I'm glad it comes out in support of the troops in Iraq, I don't think there's anything sexy about war.
I would rather see videos and hear songs that simply come out and show support for the troops in ways that acknowledge the "war is hell" reality.
Here's proof that I practice what I preach. I support the troops...
One more question: Do you think it would be possible for judges to make decisions independently of political/ideological bias?
I wrote this song after finding myself agreeing with syndicated columnist Ruben Navarrette's editorial, printed in today's Bakersfield Californian. (Here in the San Diego Union Tribune).

Then, after I wrote the lyrics, I had second thoughts about the degree to which agreed with the article. Maybe, if I heard more sides of the issue, I would come to a different conclusion.
So I put a hold on the song, not...
Inquiring minds want to know. That's all I want to know. Thanks in advance for answering my questions.
Am I wrong? If so, show me where I'm wrong. BTW, what ever happened to dusty? I think it may be time to celebrate. I'd like to propose a toast and to my fellow moderate conservatives: YOU ROCK! And here's a song to help you celebrate. It's a song about a Halloween home-wrecker, but I kind of think it fits because extremist liberal ideology tends to have the same effect. It wrecks homes and it ruins the country. It's like the:

Billy Graham has entered the late autumn of his life and everybody close to him hears the winter wind blowing in the not-so-distant horizon. Yes, he is old, and his health is compromised. It is just a matter of time before he finds a new home.
And as he begins to slip away into eternity, many mysteries concerning the man and his mission emerge. How did he become so powerful, and yet manage to excude such a humble spirit. How did he hold his family together...
Alice Cooper hit the charts back in the mid-seventies with a song called Only Women Bleed. It was a great song, but it tended to cast women in a victim role, and many women do suffer immensely. But I'm not sure casting women in the role of victim is a good way to empower women.
But I'm wondering if men really do have it that good. There are so many conflicting expectations out there surrounding men and the role that men are expected to play. It's not so easy...
Is victory in Iraq within reach? In accordance with quintessential psychological theorist and philosopher Carl Jung's notion of the anima and animus, I believe, that, both collectively, and individually---whether male or female---we all possess some sort of archetypal force that would like to witness a John-Wayne-styled-kick-ass-conclusion to the war in Iraq. To be intellectually honest is to acknowledge this archetypal wish within us.
Some will interpret this brand new...
And now that you've heard Ghost of Clinton Past, the one-song soundtrack to this blog n roll post aka, the official Hillary Halloween song for 07/08, and now that you've reflected on the blog n roll question and responded in the comments section, you may want to reflect on this trick or treat idea:
Dr BLT's Halloween gift tip: This was a big blog n roll hit for me in 2004, and still has a strong following. The song is still free of charge, so, simply hit the link, download, burn a CD...
This one is still in the works. I'll get back to it shortly. I promise.

The community of country music stars and country music fans is like an extended family. Johnny Cash was, without a doubt, the father, and then the grandfather, of country music. But he's also been called the grandfather of grunge and alternative rock, and virtually every modern style of music, even gansta rap, can claim to be, at the very least, a distant Cash relative.
Johnny's struggle was the quintessential struggle depicted in the...
In a prior blog post, I asked you about your memories of 9/11. Now I'd like to ask you this: How did the horrific (and heroic) events of that day, and the sequela that followed, impact your world view or shape (shake?) your Weltanshauung?

Those most directly impacted by a disaster such as 9/11 obviously have the most vivid and emotionally charged memories. But that was such a profoundly terrible event that memories of terror were permanently etched in the minds and hearts of Americans and indeed international citizens of the world forever. Where were you when it all went down? What do you remember seeing? Hearing? Feeling?
Depending on where you were, how you grew up, and what you held...

Ed Baker consistently harped upon his son's predilection for nu metal and post-punk rock. But he never thought, even for a moment, that his son, Billy, would...
You may call it shameless self promotion. But I feel ashamed, deeply ashamed, even as I self-promote, so the shoe simply doesn't fit. Oh, yeah, that's an old joke of mine. But I consistently put it out there, nevertheless, because it wards off all who would accuse me of such.
This is not a commercial for my fact-meets-fiction account of a Kern County family of four cum reality show stars restricted to two media resources: Bakersfield.com and Bakotopia. It is...
First, allow me to thank both Brad Riddell and AudreyB. Your blogs posts, that appear immediately below mine, served as the inspiration for my blog post. So, let's see if I can get a touchdown, or at least a field goal.
Throwing out casual hypotheses, and presenting them as such, is one thing, but, any psychologist or psychiatrist who publically offers a definitive diagnosis of a person that he/she has never taken the time to sit down with and examine,...
