FOUND PUPPIES
Location:
Oilve Drive / Patton Way,
Bakersfield, CA 93308
As I came home tonight I found 2 sweet little female puppies. They appear to be shepherd mixes. I would guess they are about 6-8 weeks old and are dark in color. They were found in the Northwest part of town.8 comments from 5 users

I hope you have more compassion than the thoughtless moron who left these poor, defenseless puppies at your doorstep. Please take the time and call some local rescue groups in the area to see if they can give you any good suggestions. Good luck with this potential opportunity to do the right thing. What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of a difference you want to make. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. M.

I have 4 rescues: 3 dogs & 1 cat. Rescued a kitten at Christmas from our neighbors pool; bottle fed it for a week then got it to eat and drink from bowls. Couldn't find a home for her so took her to SPCA ($15.00). I would never take an animal to the animal control place even if it is free to drop them off. It is still free isn't it? At least the kitty will have a chance at the SPCA to find a home. At any rate, it is worth the fee to the SPCA to have them take pets and find homes for them as opposed to putting them down. posted by

I am not a cat person. Never cared for them, never wanted one. When people in apts. next door moved, they left a cat abandoned, in the winter. I had to get stubborn and win an argument with the wife for a change. "Don't feed it, it'll come back if you do." "It will starve if I don't." This led to a litter pan, cat dishes, cat food, spaying, shots, keeping it in the house because it was too cold outside. What I got in return was getting the plug pulled from my computer; the phone knocked off the hook and me not being aware of it; and a hole in the chair upholstry from it being used for a scratch post. That was 2 years ago. The cat's still here, the wife still tells me, "Told you so," and whether I doze on the living room couch or go to bed, the cat finds me and curls up to sleep. I guess no matter how disagreeable or crazy, animals have a way of knowing what kind of person you really are. And you find out something about yourself you didn't know before. To you guys who would take time and trouble to rescue a dog or cat, you have my respect. God bless all of you. posted by

Catpaw: I have never ever regretted rescuing an animal - there have been many in my 62 years on this earth. There have been, however, a few people I wish I'd have thrown back!!!! posted by

Well, they are very sweet puppies. I plan on keeping them until Friday. If the owners do not come forward by then I will take them to the SPCA. I agree, I would never take a pet to the County Shelter. posted by

I have rescued 3 dogs and 3 cats. I come from a big family, and have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The dogs and cats correspond to my brothers and sisters, Don, Tim, Lisa, Nancy, Kevin, and Joanie. For instance, Kevin = Miles. I can't take any more animals, I have a full house, but I love my dogs: Dusty Rhodes, Delilah, and Miles Long, and my cats: Raskind, Felix, and Samantha.
