Thanks Centennial High School Cheerleaders!!! KHSD, leave sports alone, please!!!!! Shame on The Californian New 4-way stop sign!?!?! You've got to be kidding!! What sports shouldn't be in the Olympics? What sports should be added? Danica Patrick...Feisty competitor? Hothead? What do you think? You CAN help make Bakersfield a better, cleaner place to live! My thoughts on "My Super Sweet Sixteen" type of parties What are your favorite (and not-so-favorite) TV shows? Why won't recycling centers in Northwest Bakersfield accept recyclable items that aren't CRV? I just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Easter. Have fun with your families and remember that the real meaning of Easter is Jesus and The Ressurection (spelling?). 8 comments from 6 users

Happy Easter and Christ is Risen to those celebrating the Western Easter. We Orthodox are celebrating on April 27 this year. At least we get our Easter candies at a discount;) posted by

I think it is worth a nod that we have an atheist who posts to wish us Christians a happy day while you make a post saying, "Remember the REAL reason." Who is the better example of Christ-like attitudes? I believe like you that there is a God and that Christ is my personal Lord and Savior. I also believe that we are to show gracious humility as examples of the best of Christianity. I'm disappointed in this post. It's not that you didn't have a right to post it because you did but what good did it do to lead others to Christ by suggesting non-Christians are wrong? posted by

Chrissy, I appreciate what you're trying to say here...but, I'm kind of writing it off as this being his blog. If he's a Christian, then that's what Easter means to him. And...while I don't agree with him that Easter is "really" about Jesus, it's his blog. I wished EVERYONE a Happy Easter, with no strings or qualifications, because it's what I felt was "right". But, seriously...I do appreciate the point you were making. I also appreciate that Bryan likely didn't make that comment about Easter being "really about" Jesus to slam others (at least, I hope he didn't). posted by

I was trying to wish everyone a happy and safe Easter, too. ChrissyL, I do not appreciate you calling me an atheist (if you were referring to me). Just because I don't go to church every week doesn't mean I'm an atheist. I still believe in God. Making it to church every week is pretty difficult for me since I don't drive and can't always have a ride. >>I also appreciate that Bryan likely didn't make that comment about Easter being "really about" Jesus to slam others (at least, I hope he didn't). And, I was not trying to slam others, so possummomma was right there. posted by

ChrissyL, I do not appreciate you calling me an atheist (if you were referring to me). I didn't call you an atheist. I said "an atheist" posted an Easter greeting for the bloggers. Go just a few posts before yours and you'll see what I was referring to. Just because I don't go to church every week doesn't mean I'm an atheist. You need to drop the defensive position. I didn't say you were an atheist. I don't know you. I guessed you were a Christian because you said Jesus was the "real reason". How often you go to Church is none of my business. What I commented on was your comment that I felt put Christians in a bad light by saying what is a "real" reason and what is not a "real" reason. The ritual of Easter predates Christ. As a Christian, I respect the fact that the holiday has pagan roots. I believe that Christ was resurrected but unlike Christmas there is no single date. Easter skips around so you can't claim that you're celebrating the actual day of Christ's resurrection. I celebrate Easter for traditional christian reasons but I don't post blogs telling people they're wrong if they're celebrating spring and rebirth of nature. posted by

That's one of the hazards of having multiple blogs on the same topic. If we refer to something on another blog people get lost,
