What are your favorite (and not-so-favorite) TV shows?
Here's a fun little topic. What are your favorite TV shows of all time? My favorites are listed below in no particular order. Which shows do you not like? 1. 7th Heaven (which aired on the WB-now CW-until its finale last year. Too bad I missed the final season thanks to Directv not offering the Bakersfield CW. UGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!). Just a great family drama. 2. Cops (Tru Tv-formerly Courttv-& Fox 58). "Bad boys bad boys, whatcha gonna do whatcha gonna do when they come for you...???" Enough said. 3. Deal or No Deal (NBC). Those girls (the models) are cute! 4. American Gladiators (the new episodes on NBC). Once again, cute girls!!! Plus, the competition is cool. 5. Battledome (which no longer airs, but used to be on Channel 23? after the 11pm news on Saturdays during the 1990s). This show had some similarities to American Gladiators, but at the end of each episode (if I remember correctly), the 2 contestants (I think there were 3 contestants in each episode) with the most points after 3 or 4 events wrestled against each other in a caged dome with the "warriors" watching from the outside to determine the champion, whereas in AG they run an obstacle course to determine the champion. But there were no girls in this show. 6. Full House (1987-1995 on ABC?, also airs in syndication on ABC Family a lot). Who can forget characters like Michele Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler? I can't!!! And not to mention Stephanie's line, "How rude!" And everyone else was funny, too. This is just a good, heartwarming, funny, family sitcom. 7. Family Matters (also in syndication on ABC Family). Urkel constantly making fun of Carl all the time. That was some funny stuff!!!!! Some shows I can't stand or just don't watch: 1. A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila (MTV). This show is just annoying, especially because they constantly air it over and over again (MTV does this with some of its other shows, too, though)!!!!! 2. Any show that's loaded with violence or horror. Enough said.

Favorites...Original L&O, Murder She Wrote (I'm an incurable Agatha Christie/Miss Marple movie,TV genre), Reba, Raymond, Rosemary and Thyme, Keeping Up Appearances, As Time Goes By (3 British comedies), Mattlock, Nat. Geo, Disc., History, Golden Girls, Frazier. And # 1 of all time...Drum Roll...ALL STAR TREK SERIES. Dislike intensely the original Fear Factor, all reality shows, most talent shows, girly shows like Housewives etc., and one that gets me introuble with family...Seinfeld. Geeezz..note that none of my favorites are still on the air. Not a current show in the lot. Wonder why that is? posted by

My Name is Earl The Office The Apprentice The Simpsons Survivor (an oldie but a goodie) Big Brother (a trash wallow) House Hunters (no plot, predictible pablum) Sci Fi channels Saturday Monster Movies (I do housework to blood curding screams) How many times have I seen Tremors? Washington Journal (I'm smarter than the call ins) No Spin Zone (to check if I still have a blood pressure) Countdown with Keith Olberman (to check if I still have a blood pressure) Chris Matthews (watching and hoping for him to make a gaffe that gets him kicked off TV) In case you think I don't have a life, I watch "at" the above programs while I clean house, read, do crossword puzzles, crochet or nap. posted by

People are so funny when it comes to judging others by answers to questions like this blog asks. My TV is on a few hours an evening and sometimes not even that. I will confess to trying to be home for my British comedies. Now THAT I make an effort for as PBS often preempts them for some kind of musical evening. I grab 'em when I can. For some reason they aren't showing Rosemary and Thyme right now and those gals are my favorites along with Dame Judy Dench. I used to be a huge fan of Absolutely Fabulous (my first foray into British Comedy) but it's hard to catch. posted by

Witbee, I liked the old Battlestar but never got into the new one. I liked Deep Space Nine too..loved Odo. I watched some Jericho in the beginning but lost it somewhere. I think it was on the times when I was working nights. I'm a Sci Fi fan too. I think some of us love that sort of thing, and in my case the Christie type genre as well as most adventure films, because they suspend belief and get us away from everyday life. If I want reality in my TV shows I'll watch documentaries. posted by

Current favorites: Daily Show, Colbert Report, Countdown. Kinda partial to Futurama although that's mostly just in reruns. "Coupling," a British sitcom, is the only show I have every episode of on DVD. All-time favorite: M*A*S*H. . Spouse likes Quantum Leap and Remington Steele, both of which we're building DVD collections of. posted by

My guilty pleasure is the Monday night CBS lineup - the Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and 2 and 1/2 Men. I love Jeopardy, Cash Cab, CSI, CSI:NY, Num3ers, but my all-time favorite...The X-Files I still like catching sci-fi in reruns. From Star Trek to Sliders, Quantum Leap to Star Gate SG1, it's a nice escape... posted by

I don't watch a lot of TV. It's on all day with the kids shows and I usually turn it off when the kids go to bed to get some peace and quiet. Sometimes the hubby and I sit down to watch TV, and we like: Simpsons Malcolm In The Middle Daily Show The Colbert Report The First 48 and my very favorite: Project Runway I usually only have about 2 hours at night to myself, and I like to spend that cozy under the covers and reading my book. Like Nancy, I love Agatha Christie, and books in the murder mystery genre that aren't too graphic or gory. Tony Hillerman is my favorite right now. He writes detective mysteries set on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico and Arizona. They are fantastic, clean, and nicely descriptive of the serene beauty of the desert and the quiet dignity of the Navajo people. posted by

Just ignore Maggiepoo, you guys. This is a person so filled with unhappiness and anger they go on fun blog topics like this just to rain on everybody's parade, hoping to spread their unhappiness around and maybe release some of it from themselves. Pathetic. BTW--Thanks for the info about William Krueger, Nancy. I'm always looking for a new author to get into. posted by

It is a know fact that 99% of the students that travel worldwide and watch TV have bad experiences that effect thier entire adult life and it is passed down generation to generation, Know surveys relate that a stay of 4-6 months constitutes a realist basis for a true perspective on life in a visited country and most students are able to write reviews in the Michelin Guide due to the experience they have aquired in a foreign country, posted by

Very occasionally, I will watch The Real World on MTV. Right now, its in Hollywood, CA. Occasionally that show does get a little too racy/disgusting for me, though. Also sometimes I'll turn on the music videos on MTV, MTV2, or VH1, mainly to see if any of the videos have any cute girls in them! Sometimes I'll watch reruns of America's Next Top Model on MTV, but it annoys me when they constantly (sometimes up to 3 times a week) show 12 hour marathons of the show. True Life, a documentary on MTV, is okay, too. NASCAR is okay but I love to watch the IndyCar Series. And yes one reason for that is Danica Patrick. I am a pretty big sports fan, so I have my TV turned to sports networks like ESPN a lot. posted by

LOVE: MASH reruns, House MD, Ghost Whisperer, Crossing Jordan (curse NBC for cancelling it!), Animal Cops, Extreme Makeover Home (sappy, I know, but a great feel-good show), History channel, CSI. As a small child, nothing could beat Dark Shadows, Night Stalker and Night Gallery. In my teen years, Saturday Night Live, although it lost all it's charm for me when it lost John Belushi, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray...and Mr. Bill. HATE: Simpsons, Seinfeld, Sex and the City (can't stand Sara Jessica Nose) ALL "reality" shows, Fear Factor, Spongebob, Beavis and Butthead, Married with Children...actually, most sitcoms since MASH lack interest for me. And I absolutely CAN'T STAND American Idol. posted by

Let me add one more show to the list of shows I can't stand: My Super Sweet Sixteen on MTV (and any specials that come with that show). Read why on my blogpost, "My thoughts on 'My Super Sweet Sixteen' type of parties."
