As you are aware the BCSD Board of Education will be selecting an "appointee" to serve the remainder of trustee Ken Weir's term of office.  According to Education Code: "The Board shall interview the candidates at  a public meeting, accept oral or written public imput, and select the provisional appointee by a majority vote." (emphasis added)

 I know that you are weary of election rhetoric, but since there is still a  chance to be appointed as a trustee to the Board, I am asking you for one  more, and hopefully last, favor.  Would you recommend me to the members of  the Board of Education?

You may do this in writing by sending a short note to the Board such as this example:

Members of the Board:

As a resident of the Bakersfield City School District , I urge you to  select BCSD retired educator Bill McDougle to serve the remainder of  trustee Ken Weir's term. (You may say more if you wish, but it is best if it is kept short.)

OR you may (if you do not mind speaking publicly) attend the Board meeting on Tuesday, November 28 at 6:30 p.m. and make a similar oral  statement as the letter above.  You will have to sign a form and turn it  in prior to the start of the meeting in order to address the Board.
