Your Sports Bar recommendation
Well, OU will be playing the Texas Tech this Saturday. Any suggestion on where to go to watch this game? I've been to the tail gaters - way too noisy. That's all I know - don't get out much. Your suggestion will be greatly appreciated. 13 comments from 9 users

Try BJ's. Their wall of TV's is a good place to watch the games.... posted by

I don't get out much either. For a reason. Most pizza joints have a big screen and segregated sitting, if you aren't particular about clogging your artieries. Rowdiness is not as extreme as sports/titty bars. Me, I'd get yummies and invite friends or go to their house. posted by

I'd say Gooseloonies, but they're not open yet, as far as I know. They were the best, though, and probably will be again. Absolute best nachos in town. posted by

Personally, I prefer to have it my house with my HD TV, BBQ grill and cheap beer. But, these friends want to head out. BJ's is okay for socializing, but they don't turn up the volume on TV so... posted by

Try RJ's on Hageman. Usually a nice combination of sports interested folks on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. posted by

I guess I have been out more than I remembered (BJ's, RJ's and Tailgaters). The last time I was at the RJ's (about 1.5 years?), they had this old rear projection TV with faded display. Have they updated their TVs? My problem with these sports bar is that they rarely turn up the volume so you can't hear the commentators (kind of like being at the stadium I guess). I was kind of hoping for a lounge like place where the noise is down to minimal, big clear picture and cheap beer. Sounds like my home. posted by

I thought Gooseloonies had opened already but I could be mistaken. Odd place for them though, right next door to a day care facility for adults. posted by

What about Replay Lounge. Is it still open? It has a wall of HUGE screens and they were accomodating about the FSU games. posted by
