Are you smart enough to vote?
Are you smart enough to vote? Take this short (33 questions) and see how you fare. With all the joke on the internet about Obama voters not knowing the issues (what do you think about Obama's selection of Palin as VP?), I'm sure this crowd is smarter than the average American. However, take this quiz and see how you measure up. I scored 78%. Some of the questions do require you to think. http://www.americanciviclit... I sincerly believe that if you can't answer simple questions like naming the three branches of the gov't, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. 13 comments from 11 users

31 out of 33, but a couple were lucky guesses. It is just another message to me about letting my priorities go south. I didn't even know who Dustin Pedroia was last week. posted by

30 OUT OF 33. It is a challenging test but elected officials have no excuse for not doing better. They are our leaders and they should lead by example -- and intelligence! posted by

Considering that I don't have a penchant for history AND that it's been over 27 years since I've had anything close to a history or civics class, I didn't do too badly: 81.82% posted by

I got 30 also. Seems like a trend. Hey Casooner, I think George Hamilton did play defense for Texas Tech yesterday. LOL posted by

There were 49 visits and only 6 posts so far. Therefore, I'm concluding that the lower scores aren't posting or ? I guess I wouldn't brag about a lower score either. I also noticed that RBS also played this on the radio so some of your scores could be 'assisted'. So, who should play for the Big 12 South (Texas, Texas Tech or OU)? Texas says they beat OU, but OU beat trashed tech which beat Texas. You know where my vote is. antiextremism, thanks for fixing our wheel - because it would have come off of the wagon for making all those runs had it been not fixed by the tech raiders. Man, I thought it was going to be nail biter all the way through. What happened? posted by

Well, when I started to get to the questions that seemed like "do you have a clue or are you a nut", I gave up on the quiz Casooner. The first half seemed rather important to voting rights. The last 10 or so questions reminded me of a Slashdot quiz without the CmdrTaco or Cowboy Neil references. I also loved how question 8 had the answer to question 2 in it. But since it seems to important to you, I slogged through the second half and got a 31. posted by

32 of 33. Blew the last question by misreading it; I thought they meant that *EACH* person would get back exactly what they were taxed. Shoulda known none of the other answers seemed right either... posted by

random -- my husband also got 32 of 33, missing the last question as well. He quibbled that the wording should have said average tax per person since not every person pays the same amount in tax for that answer to be correct. posted by

Man I have no idea Casooner. I thought Tech would most likely lose, but I did not even consider that kind of debacle. It was like Oklahoma was stealing their play calls. LOL If it were up to me, I'd give Oklahoma the nod over Texas even though they lost to them. The Okies weren't at full strength the first time, and I think they play better defense than the Longhorns. What I really want to see is an 8 team playoff. posted by
