Many of the dating techniques that can be used to determine the age of the universe and the earth point to a maximum amount of time less than the billions of years required by naturalistic evolution. Galaxies wind themselves up much too fast to be billions of years old. There are too few visable supernova remnants. Comets disintegrate too rapidly and have no mechanism to reform. There is too little sediment on the sea floor to account for erosion and not enough sodium in the sea to account for billions of years. The earth's magnetic field is decaying too rapidly. Rock layers are bent to extreme degrees, suggesting they folded rapidly while still soft. Radioactive halos present in rocks show a time of rapid radioactoive decay in the past. Too much helium resides in minerals that are supposed to be very old. Carbon -14 is found in diamonds and coal that are supposed to be millions or billions of years old. DNA and other biologic materials should decay and not be found in fossils - bacteria alleged to be 250 million years old should have no intact DNA left, yet they were able to grow. There are too few skeletons of stone age humans to support the alleged 200,00 - year timespan. Agriculture and historical writings have been around for too short a period. In combination, this short list demonstrates that many dating methods defy the billions of years needed to support evolutions house of cards. I would urge all to visit creation websites and read the latest books on this subject. I can recommend "Evolution Exposed" and the corresponding website www.evolutionexposed.com that can be used to link the reference materials. Bible believing Christians are continually accused of disregarding science to embrace the Bible - and this many times by Christians. This should not be. Instead of filtering our faith in the Bible through "science" - we should be filtering our science through the Bible to determine the validity of said science, and make our conclusions.
I believe so. You Bible believers, don't shake your head yet. I was reserved about weighing in on this like some kind of "expert" - when I am not gay. But the overwhelming testimony from gays is that they are born that way. Also, I have observed a boy of about 5 years of age with "normal" parents, that was obviously gay. A 5 year old "flamer". He had that spirit about him, probably from birth. I don't think they will ever find a gay gene. I don't believe it's a physical condition. I do believe it is a spiritaul condition. There is plenty of Biblical support for this. Look at (edit) Ex.. 20:4-6 (4) "You shall not make for youselves an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. (5) You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and fouth generations of those who hate Me, (6) but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments." I feel a kindred spirit to homosexuals because I am an alchoholic. We are grouped together by God. Look at 1 Cor. 6:9,10 " Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor theives nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." So how could I ever think I was "better" than gays? We're all in this together. When I fell back into drinking after 13 years of walking with God it was a very difficult time for me. I still loved the Lord, and I would try to interpret scriptures (even the above) to justify continuing to drink and still be on the narrow road to heaven. But the closer I would come to God the more coviction I would feel, and I knew I would have to quit. It was so hard, because I "loved" alchohol and could not accept life without it. But God showed me that I had to choose between Him and alchohol. It was easy to choose God, but hard to carry it out. But I did it, and He met me in my conviction. He has become my drink, He has become my intoxicating love. I love homosexuals and will go the exra mile to befriend them. And if they also wan't to choose God, I will have patience and love for them during the sometimes long and difficult courting season. Spirit filled, love of God filled congregations will do likewise. This is the prevailing spirit at the Garden where I attend. The college professor challenged the class with this question. Did God make everything there is? One student bravely answered, "Yes." "Everything, young man?" "Yes, He did sir," the young man replied. The professor responded, "If God made everything, then God made evil, and if we can only create from within ourselves, then God is evil." The student didn't have a response and the professor was happy to have once again proven the Christian faith to be a myth. Then another man raised his hand and asked, "May I ask you something, sir?" "Yes, you may," responded the professor. The young man stood up and said, Sir, is there such a thing as cold?" "Of course there is, what kind of question is that? Haven't you ever been cold?" The young man replied, "Actually, sir, cold does not exist. What we consider to be cold, is really only the absence of heat. Absolute zero is when there is absolutely no heat, but cold does not really exist. We have only created that term to describe how we feel when heat is not there." The young man contineud, "Sir, is there such thing as dark?" Once again, the professor responded, "Of course there is." And once again, the student replied, "Actually, sir, darkness does not exist. Darkness is really only the absence of light. Darkness is only a term man developed to describe what happens when there is not light present." Finally the young man asked, "Sir, is there such a thing as evil?" The professor responded, "Of course, we have rapes, and murders and violence everywhere in the world, those thing are evil." The student replied, "Actually, sir, evil does not exist. Evil is simply the absence of God. Evil is a term man developed to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. It isn't like truth, or love, which exist as virtues like heat and light. Evil is simply the state where God is not present, like cold without heat or darkness without light." The professor had nothing to say. |
