Pictures of the new Skywalk over the Grand Canyon
I like looking at the pics..but I could not handle walking on that 'thing'. From Cnet:
Afraid of heights? You might tread carefully, then, if you visit Grand Canyon West, a tourist destination whose main attraction is The Skywalk. The cantilevered walkway, which is made its media debut Tuesday, is a mere 4,000 feet above the bottom of the canyon. It opens to the public on March 28. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, was one of the first to walk out onto the structure. The open-air skywalk extends 70 feet out from the rim of the canyon, where it's anchored deep in the rock landscape. It will be open from dawn to dusk, and the price of admission is $25 per person. (No word on whether that price includes an airsick bag.) As many as 120 people will be allowed on the bridge at any given time; each will have to wear special shoe covers to prevent slipping and scratching. $25 bucks? Geez..it isn't cheap is it? 9 comments from 6 users

I can hardly stand to get on a step ladder to change a light bulb - just the pics of this scare me.

I wouldn't mind the cost knowing it's going to the tribe. I understand this is their last gasp attempt for some continuing revenue. If it wasn't for that, just the $25 would be to "steep" for my taste. I wonder how long it will be before someone makes use of its "Golden Gate Bridge" service? You know somebody wants to be first. posted by

I looks impressive, but I get weak kneed and sweaty walking over the railroad crossing at Rabobank arena. To top that off, had jury duty last week and had to go over that several times. Oh well, I like the idea of helping the tribe. I know they took some heat for building a tourist trap from some folks, but these Indians are very poor. This may be their ticket to a decent life.
