The coolest thing about blogging .....
... is you get to meet the most interesting people. Here is my latest drawing of an old friend who happened to come across one of my blogs. Mike is the lead singer to a Christian rock group called Roads to Rome and said since Im creating new drawings for my proposed book idea, I might as well add him to it too! Ahh.... friends are great aren't they! Especially when they are characters like Mike Musick! For those who are keeping up on my drawings, you might want to think of questions that I can answer within the pages of the book. I have been compiling questions I get from artists just starting out or those who just havent mastered the pencil yet, but if you folks have any questions, or suggestions, feel free to send them my way.

Even, I draw from photos, even for people that pose for me in person. However most people send me photos since I get commisioned assignement from all over the word... ahh, the internet is an awesome tool. As for those local photos allows them to pose just once and I can draw any time I get the chance, which is usually after work in the evenings. A few hours a draw seems to get the job done. I have had a few animated clips of my drawings in progress on my website before and I should take you up on this idea for YouTube. With the book I am working on, I have been scanning the drawings in progress and it would be easy to animate them for that purpose. HMMMMMM..... good idea! Thanks for the comment.

David. Love your work. About how much do you charge for portraits? Thanx! posted by

Pricing is always based on the size of the drawing and the time put into it. A single portrait can range from $250-$400. The drawing posted here would go for at least $400 because of the time and detail. Email me at paper2pencil@earthlink.net for a quote based on your needs and please remember to send me a high quaility photo to draw from. For subject type in: "Drawing Request" or you may not make it past my spam blocker. I have had to turn down several great drawing opportunities because the photos they had were too small and blurry to get any detail. So the larger the photo and clearer the omage the better your drawing will be. David posted by
