Here is the first in a series of cowboy drawings I have set out to complete. This is a friend named Felix who is a professonial firefighter and model. This drawing is an upclose version to the original photo he sent me. Allowing me to focus on his hands. Hands continue to be a challenge for me. This is a small 4.25" x 6.25" graphite pencil drawing on paper. I will be using this drawing and all othes I create of him in my book of drawings. David I know.... It's been a while since I posted anything here . The last half of 2007 was a busy one. Cranking one commissioned drawing off after another. Then the start of this year, I started a project I have been wanting to do for a while. Put together a book on how I draw. I have been blessed with many friends willing to help me with this project, from photographers, actors, singers and artists, who have sent photos for me to draw from but I need more females to draw. Not to limit this search to just females. If anyone out there who think they have what it takes or has an interesting photo I can draw from, email me and we can work something out. You must have legal rights to the photo if I am to draw from it. I cannot promises that I'l draw you, but if I do I am sure you will be pleased with what I can offer. Check out samples of my work on my website at http://www.paper2pencil.com at www.myspace.com/paper2pencil or better yet .... stop by JP Jennings Art gallery and Frame shop at the corner of Chester and 17th, here in Bakersfield. If my drawings aren't up yet, tell him you are there to see my drawings he has in "storage". In the mean time, here is a sample of the cover. The model is a friend from Canada by the name of Gorden Hysen, who's happens to be a professional model. Thanks for the interest , especially to those asking where have I been, ? David |
