WWE's Chris Benoit, family found dead!
I can't say that I know a ton about wrestling but I have a ex-boyfriend that loved wrestling and even wrestled himself. The WWE is very much like a soap opera with some wrestling in between so I would watch it with him. Even before I met him, I would watch if The Rock was on because he is so entertaining. So, if you watch WWE or watched WCW or even some ECW, you know who Chris Benoit is.
Today, he was found dead, along with his wife and young child in his home. They are currently investigating it and will release more details as soon as they have them. That is very sad news for wrestlers and fans. Tonight, there will be a tribute to him on RAW. --Kari 7 comments from 6 users

WWE wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife, and son were found dead Monday and police said they were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.
The station said that investigators believe the 40-year-old Benoit killed his wife, Nancy, and 7-year-old son, Daniel, over the weekend, then himself on Monday. A neighbor called police, and the bodies were found in three rooms. Benoit was scheduled to perform at the "Vengeance" pay-per-view event Sunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minute because of what announcer Jim Ross called "personal reasons." http://seattlepi.nwsource.c... posted by

I can almost understand the killing of a spouse under extreme conditons. ALMOST. Maybe in the heat of a battle. But I will never understand taking the life of your own child under any circumstances. I could no more do that than I could fly and the very thought of it in anyone makes me a little nauseous. It's just beyond my comprehinsion. posted by

I believe the mind set of winner takes all, with the rest being branded as losers, has contributed mightily to our growing crisis. We have to push for better safety nets, job protections and health care for ourselves. We need to demand jobs pay livable wages and that corporations do have a social responsibility for the goods they sell and to the people in this nation. No one who works for a living should have to work and remain in poverty here. When our people are flooded with stories everyday about the latest recalls of poisoned food for people and pets and unsafe drugs and health products it puts folks on edge. We know the air in populated cities is polluted beyond safe and that our water is at risk from giant agriculture and industry runoffs. We know that our cereal manufacturers have increased the amount of sugar content in their kids-targeted boxes over the past decade to unbelievably high levels. You wonder why we now have a generation of kids with diabetes and morbid obesity on our hands and no way to pay for their treatment? Take a hard look at corporate fast food and the cereal industries. This current period of golden age profiteering at the expense of the American worker finds retirement an illusion, vacation time shrunk, and the costliest health benefits on the planet. We stigmatize whole groups of people because of stress, economically and psychologically. Without evident ready solutions and growing desperation we are beginning to see violence become a bigger part of the solution equation. Sadly in our anger, the ones we hurt the most are those closest to us. posted by

Suspected steroid use. Authorities also said they are investigating whether steroids may have been a factor in the deaths of Benoit, his wife and their 7-year-old son. Steroid abuse has been linked to depression, paranoia, and aggressive behavior or angry outbursts known as "roid rage." "We don't know yet. That's one of the things we'll be looking at," said Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard. He said test results may not be back for weeks. http://www.bakersfield.com/... Can't say I'd be surprised if it turns out to be a contributing factor. posted by

Just like the previous person posted, he is being glorified. No matter who the person is, whether it is your average person or President of the United States, no one should be glorified of murder, regardless of what they were taking or what stress they were experiencing. I have a son the same age, I go alot of stress day in and day out, but if you can't take life, I suggest taking yourself out, not innocent lives. I am not trying to say that suicide is ok, it is a coward act, but why take someone else's life who probably would have helped you have you asked. Investigate, remember the victims not the murder, and let this thing go for the memory of the innocent.
