DVD Easter Eggs?

I am always curious to see what the top searches are when I open the Yahoo homepage. It is more just a curiousity thing as to what people are interested in on any given day.

I saw one called DVD Easter Eggs. I thought that was an interesting combination so I clicked on it. I guess it is hidden items on a dvd that you can usually get to from the menu on specific dvds. I knew they had special scenes that when you slowed them down or would speed them up, they do certain things......sometimes naughty things....but I was not aware of this! Maybe I am the only one who doesn't know this considering it is #4 on Yahoo Search!

I found this website, which has thousands of DVD's, that have hidden items on it! The most popular include Family Guy, Transformers, Harry Potter, Enchanted, etc. Here is the website:  www.hiddendvdeastereggs.com/.

Kevin Smith is the King of DVD Easter Eggs~ although Baz Lurhmann has quite a few on Moulin Rouge..they are hidden gems.

DVD Easter eggs were a major plot point in the Doctor Who episode "Blink," which is probably the best episode of the whole series, although right now I'm too high on having just watched "Silence in the Library" to make an objective judgment.

James, you're a Who fan?  Sweet.  Loved Blink.  I was glad about Silence in the Library.  The last few have been "meh".  A friend of mine is a few episodes ahead and she says the season is getting really awesome.

Back on topic, Easter Eggs aren't just on DVDs, they are in all sorts of software.  I think my favorite was on one of the Terminator DVDs, you had to enter the date of "the end of the world" and it would unlock a whole different cut of the movie.
