The reason registered English Bulldogs are so expensive, is due to the fact that they are expensive to the breeder from birth to 8 weeks of age.

1. They have to be artificially inseminated. 2. Puppies have to be delivered by cesearean section. 3. Puppies have to be fed every 2 hours, (with the mother) and then taken away, or she will smother them. 3. Vet checked, shots and wormed. Very expensive.

The English Bulldog has not really been bred to the point of a flat face, this is the way the breed has always been. English Bulldogs are expensive but well worth it as a pet for the family. They are good with kids and other animals. They do become part of the family, as most dogs do. I for one, go to the dog pound and adopt my dogs, I don't care for registered breeds either. I just feel sorry for this elderly woman as she puts alot of time and effort into these bulldog babies, she is not your typical breeder. She has actually kept some of her puppies that had problems, like a cleft pallet, paid for surgerys, and kept these dogs as pets of her own. Sherry Aal

Like Robb said there are so many things that have gone wrong from it. Like bad hips, shorter lives, blindness, breathing problems, mental illness, etc...

This was a fantastic show.

English Bulldogs are very expensive to raise.  Not only money wise but time wise. I myself prefer going to the pound, where I always seem to adopt the best and smartest heinz 57's. This woman puts her heart and soul into these English Bulldogs. She is not your typical breeder. She raises very socialized pups. She has been known to keep  unsellable pups,due to birth defects instead of euthanizing them, and pay vet bills on them, and make them family pets at her home. I have witnessed this myself. I feel sad for this woman, because she is part of the older generation and a little naive, and never thought about someone committing such a horrible act in her own home. Well that's today's society!!!!

When I was a kid I used to have to take care of the neighbors English Bulldog "Brit".

One time I didn't get over there for a couple of days and that damn dog had torn one of their kitchn chairs to shreds. It was a thick vinyl chair with this cotton stuffing and it was everywhere!

I looked at old Brit and his flat snoot and teef a stickin' straight out at me and wondered "how in the hell did he even do that?"

I felt pretty bad but when his "parents" got home they explained to me that he would go nuts when no one was around to love on him.

I loved that ol dog. I can see why people get so attached to them. What they are willing to pay for them is another matter.

I can buy a couple a good brangus bulls (or now even pure reg angus) for what that 08 bulldog was going for!

I feel bad for this lady too. But... she really should NOT be adding to pet over population JUST for money!

It is sad and wrong on so many levels!

Shelter pets are truly loving and they thank you literally EVERYDAY for rescuing them. They know a hard life and they love you forever when you finally show them the love and safety they may never have known.

 It isn't just dogs and cats either. We rescued two doves that had been nearly starved to death. They looked so sad :-(

We have had them almost 4 years and they are so beautiful! I love them!

Also our cocktail was given to the pound here and he was so mean. The lady there called us and we picked him up. I sure don't know what he had been through but he was one PO'ed bird!

It's been about 2 years now and he is pretty easy going (on his terms ha  ha) he even whistles the Tequila song :0) Hence his name Tequila.

I guess I like Mutts so much 'cause I'm one too  ;=)

We bought a CD with different "sounds" for teaching birds to sing.

We played several but he really seemed to like the tequila one the best so I played it about an hour a day for a week or so. I really didn't think it would work but he sings it all the time its really sweet :-) He also says pretty bird and he really LOVES to just get in the window and scream! ha ha

What is amazing is that a very serious crime has been committed here and that has not even been mentioned once.  It seems that no one is concerned that criminals are out there stalking our elderly.  Maybe next time it will be the bull or the motorcycle that vanishes.  Hopefully the suspects will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.  Hopefully someone will see that blue eyed bull dog eventually and will bring her home.

FYI, she knows where each and every one of her babies are, she sees them regularly and talks to the new parents on a regular basis.  They all have good possiblities of not ever having to see the pound.

Shame on you people that take your own animals to the dogpound, they do not even get the possibility of adoption, they are euthanized without a chance, whether they be pups, kittens or adults, they do not have to put these animals up for adoption.

Between 2pm / 4pm  yesterday I lost my one year Shil Zo (spelled wrong) I left the garage door open for 5 minutes and she must have left then   she did that the day before but I found her alittle ways down the alley

I didn't sleep at all last night I made up posters put on most corners one at circle K been to the pound already  knocked on doors still have to finish that put a ad in the Califorian for 7 days  got the web site of the pound and have been veiwing that every 2 hours. www.co.kern.ca.us/acd

Tomorrow morning will put flyers at each house around the neighborhood check the pound check the web site and pray

I havent felt this hurt since 2003     My son is the mailman up here  my two daughters have been coming up looking and knocking I have walked my legs off    

I hope who finds her are waiting to see one of posters/ read the paper tomorrow  or call the pound and take her there

Just two days ago my neighbors pit bull was running around I sat in the front with the dog till he came home

in 2007 I had 3 dogs in differnt days sit on my front yard each time I called the pound and when she came to pick them up I ask her why do I seem to get all the stays      she said a dog can smell a welcome place

My wife's Shih Tzu used to get out all the time. After about the 5th time a goin' down to this old fat lady's house on the corner and gettin' her back, I just let her stay (came back and said I couldn't find her).

I saw this old lady come out with vittles bettern' we served!

I think you're right -- them  dogs can "smell" a better deal!

I was watching your Ch17 and saw a "naturalist" pointing out some small trees with the "cambium?" layer gnawed off and some other trees gnawed through post "Beaver sent to Tehach"

He was saying there were more and it appeared to be in the area of the Bako Bike Path West of Beach Park? Perhaps down just to the East of Stockdale Bridge and West of Yokuts? I'm not sure exactly where it was however.

There are numerous critters down there along bike path, especially West of Stockale Bridge prior to Enos Lane. Egrets, Skunks, Bobcat, Beaver, Rabbits, Squirrels, even an occasional Puma.

Old Blue

Those are common in every neighborhood park.  You left out the cheaters who meet up for  a quickie on their lunch hour.  I used to enjoy the "show" while eating my Subway.

Also the La Rosa ice cream carts

Always in the way of  everyone except the patrons thereof

She is home     two days and two  nights   my little girl was 4 houses down one of the few we didn't check

The couple that found her were people that had a big honest heart      I have to evaluate the skin color

So hard to admit certain color of people have a different heart than us white gingo's

Reminds me back in the fifty's growing up around half my neighborhood were Mexican

My 1st girlfriend was Mexican her dad busted her butt for kissing me under the stairs of the church

I remember their parents were really hard on their kids much harder than my Mom and Dad

I offered to pay them for my little doggie    they felt in sulted I could see in it their eyes I apologized
