Relay for Life -- Bakersfield a leader

I want to note that out of more than 300 Relay for Life events in California, Bakersfield is #1.

Out of thousands in the nation, Bakersfield is #2 behind a suburb of Atlanta.

There were 1,500 survivors, including my wife and I, who walked a lap Saturday at Cal State Bakersfield.

More than $1.7 million was raised for cancer research.

You can add this to the list of reasons to be proud of Bakersfield.
