eyeofbakersfield - > Eye of Bakersfield -> What do you want in the Robinsons-May building at Valley Plaza
What do you want in the Robinsons-May building at Valley Plaza
Valley Plaza is getting close to filling the 23,000-square-foot Robinsons-May building, which served as a Barber Honda showroom in the interim.

But now it will go back to being an anchor store.

What do we want there? A huge sports, auto accessory and beer plaza to fulfill every man's fantasy?

Or do you women want something fu fu in the space?

Staying in line with where Bako is headed, I predict a 99 cent "superstore." Or another Ranch Market.

A place that showcases Roombas; Not Scoobas, Roombas.

I think we need to have some place that people can go to get their pickups lifted and have huge ass tires installed.

There's just not enough of those here.

Nordstoms or Neiman Marcus would be great....

Walmart? As if there aren't enough of those dumps.

Nordstrom's, no

Nordstrom Rack, yes

So, you'd rather have last years out dated fashion? Typical Bakersfield. You plan on wearing socks with your sandals this summer again?

No doubt it will be cheap and tacky.

I do.  It keeps me from getting tan lines from the straps on my beautifully manicured and perfectly tan feet.

How about a Burlington Coat Factory or a clothing outlet store! Yeah, we always need more

clothing stores! Can you tell I am a woman? Nothing upscale or expensive and no more 99 cent stores!

Change the whole mall to a westfield shopping center, its in dire need of improvement.

A Burlington Coat Factory ought to be a big hit in July and August.

How about giving MOR FURNITURE a larger floorroom? Maybe if they had to spend a little MOR on renting space, there would be less money for advertizing.

Burlington Coat Factory is already going in next to Mervyns in the old Vons store.

Rip the whole mall down. Ha ha ha.

Now that I agree with! But what would go in there? How about a museum?

I agree with the person that posted this:

1st floor: WILLIAMS-SONOMA and POTTERY BARN

2nd floor: CRATE & BARREL and SHARPER IMAGE

NO MORE WALMARTS - YUK!  NO MORE OUTLET TYPE, 99 CENT, SECOND HAND GARBAGE!  IT'S NO WONDER MOST OF US DRIVE "DOWN BELOW" OR SHOP ONLINE.

99 cent store? No, let's upscale a bit here in Bako. How about a $1.99 store? After all the mall is a Class A mall now. LOL

BLOOMINGDALE'S! The store I miss the most from my life on the East Coast.
